Why won't my oven heat?

I have a Kenmore stove model 316433601. When I turn the oven on to the desired temperature, the coil by the broiler heats up turning red. However nine out of ten the oven never turns on. When the oven does turn on it will not stay lit while cooking something. The four burners on top have no problem lighting so I know that I have gas. Thanks for your help.

I know how disappointing it is when you are unable to bake your foods. I was able to find a link that includes helpful information for a similar issue. I attached the link below. I hope this is helpful.

Thank you for submitting your question. The model number you've provided is showing as "incorrect" in our data base. In general, based off what you've described it sounds like the bake igniter will need to be replaced because the broiler is working. Here is a

on how to test a bake igniter. For part and repair information, please recheck your model number and reply back to this thread. Thank you for choosing Manage My Life.
