Craftsman riding mower blades turn slowly.

Ive been having problems getting this mower to cut evenly for a while, the left side would cut good while the rioght side would always leave some grass left uncut. I replaced the belt because I thought the old one had been stretched out.. Well thaT did not fix the issue. It was gradually cutting less every time I cut. But now the blades hardly turn at all. This started yesterday the spindle that that turns the belt is smokiing on top and smells like a clutch in a standard vehicle and it is getting super hot. Im thinking there is some sort of clutch malfunction. Im not sure what this part is called and how to order it. Or could it be something else? thank you.

I am sorry that you are having some difficulties with your mower and I will be happy to help. I did some research and I was able to find a link that describes a similar question. I am also adding a second link in where you can enter the model number of your mower and a parts list diagram will pop up. I hope this helps while you wait for your expert response.

I will need the model number from under the tractor seat to see which deck and clutch system your tractor has. You can reply back to me on this thread with that number and we can proceed from there.
