How can I soak my clothes in my washer without the water pumping out?

I have a Kenmore top loading washer model number 110.21102011. How can you let clothes soak for awhile in the Kenmore top loading washer without the water draining/pumping out automatically? I want to let the clothes soak in some oxi-clean for an hour.

Everything I have tried so far doesn't work. The water starts to pump out automatically (even when I think I have "turned it" off) after about 10 minutes. On old washing machines, this was much simpler. I feel like the only thing I can do is soak my clothes in the sink or bathtub which is annoying when you have a washer to do it in!

Same problem I have Tanya, I will try Tykara's method. You wrote in in July, did it work.

Thank you for submitting your question. The soak cycle will not run for an hour. The new Kenmore top loading will not allow the unit to sit idle in soaking for an hour. The soaking time also depends on the load size. The maximum time it will soak for 30 minutes. If you'd like the washer to soak for longer you'll need to let the unit fill up with water and then unplug it. When you plug it back in you'll have to reprogram it to run a cycle and then start it. I hope this helps. Thank you for choosing Manage My Life.

As far as I am concerned, there is nothing like the old days. Things were so much simpler.
An expert will be along to verify if your specific model has the option of soaking. In case you need the owners manual, I am attaching that link.
