Kenmore dishwasher - no lights no function - model: 665.13482k902.

Hello, I have a Kenmore dishwasher model: 665.13482k902.

It doesn't work. None of the lights on the control panel light up when I press the buttons. And when I click normal wash, start(for example), it doesn't work.

So it seems the lights and buttons do not work.

I found a few guides but need a little clarity. Here is what I have tried thus far: I confirmed it gets power by putting it on a known working outlet. When I unplug and then replug, it starts the drain process(confirmed by dumping bucket of water in it). I pulled the control panel off and I see no visible corrosion on the PCB. I re-set the ribbon cable and it still does not work.

What left can I test? I am confident in my electrical abilities, I just cannot find a guide beyond these steps to troubleshoot.

I know that it can be very frustrating to have issues with your dishwasher. From the description of the issue, this appears to be a faulty contact between the user interface (the buttons) and the electronic control. Be sure to unplug the dishwasher or shut the circuit breaker off prior to working on the unit. Verify that the power is off. The first thing to do is to remove the control panel assembly. I was able to locate a video that will show you how to do this, just click here to view it:

. Once you are in, clean the connector on the ribbon cable that is connected at the electronic control board. The other side of the cable is at the user interface and cannot be removed. After cleaning and reseating the connector, reassemble the dishwasher and give it a try. This may take care of the problem. If it does not then you will need to replace the user interface. If you would like to see a part diagram, just click on this link,

, and enter the model number. I hope this helps. If you need further assistance, please reply to this thread. Thank you for using Manage My Life.
