Kenmore Elite washing machine water level sensing error

I have a topload Kenmore Elite washing machine model 31512. The water level on a very small load I just did was extremely high - in fact more than half the tub. It should have washed the load with much much less - perhaps only 25% of the amount of water was needed.

this could be very costly to me long term- I'm disappointed in the performance of the water level sensor and I wish this machine would let me input it.

what can I do?

Too much or too little water in the Kenmore washer can be a concern when it comes to getting the clothes clean and saving money. The link provided below may be helpful while waiting for and expert response to your specific question.
