Electric mower 247.370480 battery won't hold charge

I charged the battery for 14 hours as reccommended in the operator's manual and only ended up with one green light on the battery level indicator. I started mowing and in thick grass the red charge battery light came on. Do the four batteries require replacement?

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the mower. If the batteries are not taking a full charge the problem could be with the batteries or the charger. In most cases, it is time to replace the batteries. I posted a few images below that will aid in checking the batteries and the charger. It also includes the information on how to access the batteries. Just click on the images to enlarge them. Then follow the checks. Once you determine the problem, you can order the replacement parts from the following link.

Once you are out there mowing the lawn, the last thing you want to deal with is a dead battery. The link provided below is on a similar issue with a lawn mower. Hope this information is helpful while an expert responds.
