So, a Sears Tech came over and troubleshot the TV and said the part I replaced is the SMPS board. Then, she tested the power supply board and said that it wasn't putting out enough power! She said that to replace the board was going to cost around $400!! I found a board on Sears Parts Direct for ~$180! She also said that if we replace the board there may be other problems with the y and z sustain boards and perhaps after the fix the TV might not last very long!? I don't know how to make heads or tails of this. Please help!

Sorry, I meant the power indicator light (not sure what it is called), below the screen, flickers whenever I press the power button. The backlight doesn't come on at all. On the back of the TV (with the panel removed) is where I noticed the four (4) LEDs that I thought might be a trouble code indicator.

If the backlight is flickering and you replaced the power supply board then the LCD panel assembly is the issue. The inverter boards should be part of the LCD panel assembly. If a CCFL tube in the panel is week it will affect all of them and cause the TV to flicker.

So, I opened up the TV and noticed some bad caps on the power supply board. The model number I used to find the correct part (EAY32961901 power supply board) is 60pc1d-ue.auslljr. I did end up ordering it and replacing it to no avail! The TV is still flickering the power indicator light on the front and on the back there is what looks like an LED code indicator on one of the other boards. There are four LEDs that, when I press the power button, the three on the left light up then after about 1 second the far left LED turns of leaving the center two on for about another 2 seconds. I figure this must be a code. I hope we can figure out what is happening. Please enlighten me.

I would need the service model number off the back of the TV to look up. It is the same as the model you gave me, but it will have 7 letters after the portion you gave me. I can look up detailed parts information with the service model number.

Hey Dusty, that's pretty much what I had in mind. Thanks for verifying. Now, a predicament that has come up while looking at the parts chart is that there are three (3) power supply units. I don't want to try and replace them one at a time to see which does the fixing. So, I am going to open the TV and look for any obvious signs of damage. If anyone knows where I could get some type of schematic or procedure so that I can do some troubleshooting that would be a tremendous help. Thanks.

I do not have step by step instructions for this model, but here is a a general guide.

The TV needs to be unplugged and after it is unplugged, press and hold the power button for a few moments.

You are going to want to lay the TV down. It needs to be on something firm like a wooden table. You will need to lie something down before the TV like a sheet or table cloth to protect the TV from getting scratched, nothing thick. The stand may or may not need to be removed; I do not have a clear picture of how the stand is attached. Then the back cover will need to be removed. There should be screws all along the edge and a few in the middle as well as a couple around the inputs. After the back is off you should be able to see the power supply in the center top area. Most boards are held on by 4-8 screws. They need to be removed and any cables unhooked from the power supply as well.

Great! Thanks Alina, I'm ordering the part tomorrow and will need disassembly instructions, hopefully, before the delivery date.
