Gas powered Leaf blower problem - It will not stay running

Craftsman model #358.797342 - It ran ok approx 1 week ago and then it ran out of fuel, 40:1 ratio. After refueling it will only run for about 5 to 10 seconds and then stops. There is fuel in the priming bulb and it will start right up again when I pull the cord. I removed the air filter and no change at all.

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the blower. If the blower is only running for a few seconds, I recommend removing the muffler. Then start the engine with the muffler off. Make sure to wear ear plugs because it will be loud. If the blower seems to run fine, I recommend replacing the muffler. The reason it the muffler is plugged and choking the engine.

If the engine does the same thing with the muffler removed. I suspect the carburetor is dirty. I recommend cleaning or replacing the carburetor. I found a video that shows how to clean the carburetor. Click

I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance.
