by Manage My Life Last activity date:

I am looking for an accessory external light for my new Craftsman 24" Snow Thrower, Model 247.881730. Where is this located online or what is the Sears P/N?

Wade,

I appreciate your response. It appears that my Craftsman 24" snow thrower, model 247.881730 doesn't have the specified plug. I did find a different alternative to the halogen light configuration. The CREE XML T6 Bicycle Headlight LED has a 1200 lumen CREE LED, ovoid headlight assembly with many accessories, including a 4400 mAh lithium, high capacity battery pack and various mounts. Rated at 3-4 hours at highest of three dimmer settings, I added a $5 wide-angle lens by Action to change the factory 10 degree spot to a 10 degree x 30 degree flood. Total cost for both the spotlight and lens was less than $40. Attached are sample images. Thanks again for your advice.

Check down near the engine shroud to see if there is a plug where a light could be attached. Some models have an alternator and some do not. If there is not a plug there then a light cannot be added. If there is a plug there, the Arnold company makes a snow blower light that should work with this. I have also seen folks use automotive fog lights as headlights for these as well.

Does anyone know of a good accessory headlight for the Craftsman 247.881730 Snow Thrower that doesn't void the warranty. Just purchased the blower today.

Barbara, Thanks but Sears.com sends me to ManageMyLife.com for parts while Sears Parts Direct can only offer the parts pages from the Operator's Manual. I require an accessory part whether Sears Craftsman or an alternate fix.

It sounds like you may be moving that snow late into the day. The expert will review your model to reply. I did attach the links to Sears.com and Sears Parts Direct if needed.
