Kenmore Smartwash Quietpak9 Error

I am getting an F21 error on my Kenmore Smartwash Quietpak 9 - what can I do?

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

As Biguggy suggested in the first response; adding the model number would be most help in providing model specific information. Biguggy provided a link a list of fault codes that may pertain to your model.

The "F21" in most cases will indicate Long Drain". I added an image below showing how to clean the drain pump filter. If the drain pump filter is restricted it will cause a slow pump out. I added an image below that may pertain to your model.

So that's what I can tell you at this point. I can give you more detailed help if you could provide me with the complete model number. The model numbers are typically located around the outside of the tub perimeter after opening the door. If you could supply me with that information I will be happy to assist you further.

Please quote the full model number of your machine, it will start with 3 digits followed by a period or a dash eg 110. or 110-


I believe you have a front load washer built by Whirlpool in which case the F21 error code means a 'long drain'.


The link below gives the error codes for this family of washers and some possible reasons and cures. This may be of some help pending your posting of the full model number when a more specific answer can be given.,p.
