When ever there are error codes and self test available for Whirlpool dishwasher, it makes for an easy diagnose. I hope the links provided below are helpful while an expert responds to your specific model instructions.
The instructions to enter and run the diagnostic test are in the images below. The 1st image tells how to start the test and the 2nd image shows what should happen during the test. I hope this helps. You can reply with any additional details or questions for further assistance.
I tried running this test and it will not make it thru the whole test it just shuttsoff at all different times durring the cycle when it shuttsoff there are no lights on the panel could it be the control board
My quiet partner 2 is dead. no lights, no buttons work, no reseting with pushing buttons in any sequence. Thermal fuse has continuity. Getting strange readings when checking volts at all contacts. Touch one lead with one probe and I get low voltage, then touch another lead with the other probe and voltage disappears. Can you explain problem?
If there are no lights and the thermal fuse is okay then I suggest you check the wire nuts connecting the house wiring to the dishwasher. Remove the kick plate to access the dishwasher junction bos. A loose wire nut or connection may be the problem. If you reply with a model number I may be able to bring up a wiring diagram for your particular dishwasher.
I took plate off and removed the wire nuts and checked with meter and didn't have any power. I then checked an outlet to make sure meter was good. I traced the power cord thinking that is was hard wired into a recepticle, and found that is was plugged into recepticle under sink. When looking at it closer, I discovered that the spray handle hose had worked the plug loose over time. I pushed plug in and my dish washer is now working.
