Craftsman garage door opener has trouble opening and closing when it's cold out.

I have a Craftsman garage door opener (don't recall the model - the unit says 25th anniversary on it) that has trouble opening and closing when it's cold out. This has been going on for a few years but has become worse. When going up it will sometimes stop halfway. Most of the trouble comes when trying to close it. To get it to close all the way you have to fanagle with the large button attached to the inside wall. I've searched for an answer using Google. Most of those posts mention sensors and flashing lights. I don't recall the light flashing which is intended to tell you that something is blocking the beam and caused the door to open.

Please advise.

. I understand how frustrating it is having trouble with your garage door opener not working properly in the cold weather. We are here to help. Yadira did provide you a good link on this problem. I recommend that you use it. Just

to view that link. Holding down the wall control to close the door indicates, the safety sensors see an obstruction or it needs to be aligned better. It is possible for sun light, to act as an obstruction. If sun light is the problem, I recommend making a shade with card board. Otherwise, just clean and adjust the sensors. I also recommend applying some white lithium grease on the door track and rollers. I hope this helps.
