I, also, need the answer to the quick connect problem. I bought the compressor today. The sleeve on the connector is halfway back and wont go either direction.

Also where and how do you register it for the warranty period?

Thanks Wade. I've tried both and neither works. The quick connect coupler on the compressor itself has a sleeve on it that can be pulled back, but it is already halfway back. It has a male end that screws into the compressor. Sears also supplied a quick connect coupler with a female end and it works fine when I plug the quick connect ends into it. Unfortunately, since it has a female end, it won't screw in to the compressor. This thing was a gift so I guess I will have to go over to Sears and attempt to locate someone who can tell me exactly what is wrong. I even ordered a replacement coupler from Sears, thinking this was defective and it arrived exactly the same - with that sleeve halfway down and not accepting of the corresponding parts. Very strange.

Some connectors are set up to where you can push the male part in and it will automatically lock in. Some other connectors are set up to where you have to pull back on the female collar and then put the male part in.

Thanks for your reply

It's a Sears air compressor model 921.153101. It came with a quick connect coupler on the compressor itself. I am trying to snap in a hose coupler but can't seem to make it work. The compressor also came with some accessories including another quick connect coupler, but with a female end. The hose coupler fits that female one just fine but not the one on the compressor. I thought the compressor one was defective so I ordered another one from Sears. It arrived today, exactly like the one I can't make work

Good morning..... I can understand your confusion over not being able to snap that coupler into place. I did locate a link that will discuss your situation in greater detail.
It would be very helpful if you could include your full model number.
Keep in mind that an expert will be responding within the next two business
days if not sooner and will likely offer you more information and instruction.
I hope this link will help guide you as to what might be wrong with your compressor and have a nice day.
