Mystery Part fell from my Kenmore 110.26922502 Washer while I was replacing the coupler.

While putting the retainer clips back on the motor after replacing the coupler, I heard the tinkle of a metal part falling. It's a brass linchpin - approximately two inches long, rounded on 3/4 of the pin area and flat on 1/4 of the pin area. There is no retaining clip to be found. I need to find out what this part is and where it belongs. Another plastic part fell off when I lifted the control panel off of the body but it appears to be less vital but I'd like to get it back in place if possible also. I feel like I'm putting together something from Ikea. I'm finding mystery parts despite being careful and going slow. Help please!

Thanks for contacting manage my life about your washer model 110.26922502, I will be glad to assist you.

Based on the description I think the pin was a shipping pin. When the washer is first installed a strap in attached and has to be pulled for the back of the washer, this removes the shipping pin that hold the transmission and tub secure during shipping. The pins will normally fall to the floor, sometimes the get hung and will fall during repair. I have attached an image of the pin and if this is what you found, it has no further use and can be discarded as it is not reusable.

I hope this helps, if you need more help reply with added details and I will be happy to respond.
