Description
The 23.0 cu. ft. counter-depth Samsung RFG237AAWP French door refrigerator is bigger inside, not outside. It's 4 cu. ft. roomier than standard models—that's 16 percent—but stays within the same footprint. That's like adding a mini-fridge to a standard-size refrigerator—enough space for 11 extra 6-packs of soda.
The white Samsung RFG297AA counter-depth French door refrigerator also offers Twin Cooling Plus, a technology with professional-grade benefits. Two separate fans cool the fridge and freezer to maintain optimal temperature and humidity. That means no air transfers between compartments, so flavors don't mix and food stays exceptionally fresh.

Love it!!! Love It!!!! Love It!!!

After my GE Profile refrigerator of ten (10) years "crapped out" I found myself FORCED to purchase a new refrigerator. It seems that the "cooler fan" in the back of the freezer section burnt out. I called a service technician and he said "no problem". I'll order another one and will be back in two days. He came back, but the new cooler fan did NOT FIT THE ADAPTOR BAR that it bolted onto so he said he would order another one and again, return in two days. He ordered another one and again, it did not fit. It seems that GE DISCONTINUED THAT SHAPE OF FAN . I called another technician just to make sure that the part was unavailable. He, too, could not get the proper cooler fan so he could not fix the frig. I contacted GE directly and was told that the part was "redesigned" and that shape fan was no longer available. I WAS FORCED TO PURCHASE A NEW REFRIGERATOR BECAUSE GE DID NOT HAVE THAT PART. There was nothing wrong with the compressor, the frig looked like new, but no one could fix it as the newly designed/shaped fan did not fit onto the "adaptor bar". Therefor, my old frig could not "cool". I am still fighting with GE as I think it is absurd to discontinue a part after only ten years use without keeping a stock of parts for future customers' needs. Who buys a new $3,000 frig after only ten years use?? (I have a 1956 Philco that has never needed service and is still working. I store soda, beer and water in it and holiday food "overflow". ANYWAY, after extensive research, I purchased this Samsung shallow depth french door refrig. And I love it!!! It is so quiet, I have to stop and "listen for it" to make sure it is working. Yes, the ice maker makes a noise when it "drops" ice into the reserve bucket, but I think that is only natural, especially if the ice bucket is not full. And if you "pull your glass away" from the water and ice dispenser too quickly, naturally you might have some "spillage"! Of all the reviews that I have read on this refrig, I chalk up the negatives to "not using common sense" . I did call the serviceman once because the blue light on the door panel marked "filter" did not go out. I was told that it is NOT SUPPOSED TO GO OUT and stays blue until the filter starts to get "clogged" and then changes color to indicate it needs changing. But that was not the fault of the refrigerator, it was the fault of the Book of Directions because no where does it say that the filter light stays on. My only pet peeve with this stainless steel frig is that MY REFRIG MAGNETS DO NOT STICK TO THE DOOR, but that will happen with any stainless steel refrig. Now I have to find a new place to store my magnets. This refrig has everything that the Kenmore Elite (top of the line) refrig has only its about $1,000 cheaper!!! . And, there was absolutely no problem 'LEVELING" the refrigerator. Don't people know how to "adjust" the feet??? My refrig is perfectly level!! No problem! The deliverymen were extremely careful when bringing it into my house, and believe me, it was a tight squeeze!! Lastly, I LOVE the "hinged" shelf that swings up sideways to accomodate an occasional tall bottle of wine - something most frig's don't have (the shelf, not the wine.!) don't buy

I was excited about this purchase. DISAPPOINTED!! After the warranty period the ice maker broke. had to pay $365. had bad experience with the technician. had to file a complaint. Also the icemaker does not make much ice. also the handle on the ice maker is corroded. never happened before with any fridge. After spending that kind of money for a fridge...DISAPPOINTED!!!

So Far so good

Love the LED lighting and twin cooling. This wasn't our first choice. We had a different model which was delivered damaged and they told us we needed to pick a new one. We saw this one a knew this is what we had been looking for!

Love it!

This is a perfect fit for us and came at the perfect time. Our old one went out while it was full of food of course. This was the floor model and the only one available to take home right away. We've had it three weeks now and it has proven to be amazing. The counter depth is a complete necessity for our kitchen. There are only two of us in our home so the smaller size is fine as well. It is quiet, it has stayed at the temp selected since we got it. The price was great....I can't think of anything negative to say about this refrigerator. We're very happy with it.

Nice french door

|

I wasnt sure about the French door fridge. I have a friend who works on appliances. Something about the placement of the condenser makes french doors more prone to having issues. My wife liked the wider shelf space, being counter depth. Its been in for a few weeks, so the jury is still out. Doors seem light? Dont close with a soft push? The light inside is great and apart from a different style to get used to we like it

Excellent

We love this fridge. The counter depth fits perfectly in the kitchen withou sacrificing storage space.
The French doors allow you to take a quick inventory because nothing is hidden in the back. Very well lit up inside.

This is it!!!

This was a refrigerator I've wanted for about 3yrs.now.Now that I have it,its everything I thought it to be.The height fix my cabinet, there's more space for me to get through my basement door (that's the best place for it and the place the old refrigerator set). Both doors swing open beautifully, the two drawers at the bottom definitely more room than the old one.I love it. What more can I say.I walk away then turn around and look at it again and again, I do it every time I come in and out of the kitchen. My Blessing too, because I didn't have enough money on my card, but the store gave me two credits and deliver the next day, now that's excitement!!! Thank you.Thank you.

Great Fit

|

Our new fridge was a purchase made out of need, not want. We are pleased with the look, the space and most of all with the way it is designed.

Bad water and ice dispenser design

|

We purchased this fridge over a year ago. We ended up saving a little by purchasing the floor model, that I believe was a return. However, when we got it had permanent smudges in the stainless finish at the top. The smudges were from the sales sign sticking to the out side. They had polished it before we took it home and they weren't noticeable in the store. The other complaint I have, is the poor design on the water and ice dispenser. The ice is constantly falling on the floor, when filling your glass due to the shallow slant in the dispenser area. Also the water dispenser is really slow due to the size of the tube.

Great so far.

Love the easy access to refrigerator and freezer. Big improvement compared to our old side by side. Seems to keep fresh items longer too.

Great Fridge!!

|

I am not sure why the reviews are so lopsided. I have not had any issues with the fridge and it works great. No problems with scratches, ice maker, leaking, cooling, etc. All compartments work as described.

Absolutely delighted

|

I love the drawer in the freezer section, plus two nice deep drawers, and a slot for frozen pastry etc. My food lasts so much longer in the refridgerator part than it did in my old one. Oh yes, love the look of it also.

Really fine quality

|

It is spacious, beautiful and I just love it. I looked at many refrigerators and this one has everything you would want. The technology is wonderful, the ice maker doesn't stick out into the cooling area and take up space like a lot of them do. The inside is more spaciuos than you would think and it is easy to arrange your items.

Leaks

|

This fridge is awesome except for the fact that it leaks. Mine leaked through the ice area. They replaced several parts and it continued to leak. It also started leaking through the center french doors. Now I have it leaking both through the ice area AND through the center doors. Samsung is scheduled to come out and "fix" it. We'll see...

Icemaker/Water filter flood

|

Had to come on and share what happened tonight. Came into kitchen to find flood of water. Opened fridge, water poured out and was spewing from the water filter area. The water filter had only been in about 2 months; usually lasts 5-6. The icemaker made a funny noise (which web search leads me to believe is problem with making ice? The ice maker is so small, it only holds 2-3 trays of ice). I had just used a bunch of ice earlier (it is s l o w to dispense, so if you use a lot of ice, this is not your fridge/freezer/dispenser combo). Was able to get the filter out and stop the immediate flooding problem, but now I am not sure I trust this thing when I am not home! If we hadn't caught it, the whole downstairs of our house would have been flooded. We lost most of the food. But this fridge is just turning 3 years old, and I paid just south of 3 grand for it-- what they hay?? Until we figure it out, we'll just not make ice. When we do get it fixed, we won't leave the filter in during trips.

Unique features, highly rated, but don't overpay for this. See my review and do your research.

|

Have had the white version of this refrigerator for 1+ years now & did a lot of research before buying. First, do NOT pay $2900. You should be able to get a price match for several hundred dollars less. I think we paid around $2,100. That said, we love this refrigerator. Key selling points for us were its counter depth (no more sticking too far out from the cabinet line) yet still a very roomy interior, high consumer goods ratings, a chiming alarm if one of the kids doesn't get a door closed all the way, a super-smooth sliding freezer drawer with upper & lower compartments, flip-up shelves for easy reconfiguration of food items, & a fabulous divided deli drawer with separate temperature controls, including a fast-chill option (great for that bottle of wine you forgot to chill). The white model also uses separate fans for the freezer and the refrigerator, so there's no air mixing between them. Only thing we worry about is the icemaker/water dispenser, the Achilles heel of all fridges.

Fresh and cool star product

|

White is still a strong trend. This Samsung counter-depth refrigerator has amazing capacity. Users dig this machine. Twin cooling fans keeps food naturally fresh, nor wilted. The CoolSelect drawer lets you decide what temps needed to get the dinner done--thaw or chill. With more premium features than average, analysts say it ranks in the top one percentile of refrigerators.

Started off great, went downhill

|

We bought this because we had a very awkward space for a fridge in our small kitchen. At first, it worked great. Loved the crisp filtered water and the double freezer. But within a few months, the freezer started icing up. In the first year, it wasn't something too big. Now by the second year, we can't even open up the freezer and everything is frozen solid and shut for good. Trying to have our warranty cover this now.
