Better than expected

This is a great fridge. We were able to transfer everything from our old fridge, plus everything from our spare fridge in the garage, plus almost everything from our freezer in the garage! It fit exactly into the cabinet opening. Delivery guys were absolutely the best, efficient, personable, quick, knowledgeable. Love the controls on the freezer door. Ice maker was full in about 24 hours (which we discarded), the second batch of ice was done much quicker. One of our goals was to eliminate our old spare fridge in the garage, looks like we accomplished that, no problem. Samsung is very quiet, nice to have the LED lights (no additional heat inside the fridge). Had to adjust the freezer door height to match the fridge door and it was very easy to do! We've had it for a week now and so far it's great! Kudos to our sales lady at Sears, she was so knowledgeable, not pushy and waited for us to make our decision from all the models that were on display.

Not loving it

The design of this fridge is poor. Shelves are not adjustable...to make room for taller items you have to remove one and lose tons of storage space. Wine rack is nice but has to be removed for storing anything else. Gallon door storage is taken up by all items over 8". Wire rack in door is pointless. Lighting is terrible, like staring into headlights at night and very dim compared to any other fridge I've seen. Drawers are huge, would've been better if smaller and more shelf space. Handles are at the bottom which is counter-intuitive and you have to get down to ground to reach bottom shelf. Lots of space, yes, but NOT A GOOD DESIGN at all for any normal usage. Ice maker slow and crushed ice too big. Don't buy!

Love Refrigerator, Delivery Was Awful!

This 30 foot refrigerator is awesome. It is last year's model so I got a great deal. The deliverymen permanently scuffed the front door but did not mention it. They left a pool of water on the floor from the icemaker hookup but didn't mention it. They did not turn it on and seemed in a hurry to leave. The refrigerator is digital so I had to read the whole manual just to learn the procedure for turning it on. Very pleased with the refrigerator but the substandard delivery has soured me somewhat on buying more Sears appliances.

Rusts!

Love the layout and the LED lighting and smooth finish. However the smooth finish dents easily. Our water dispenser looked dirty after 6 months of purchase and what I thought was dirt was rust. This is a "water" dispenser it will get wet! Poor engineering. Took pics but there is no option to upload them. Called Samsung and they were 0 help, just wanted me to buy a new door. Will that start rusting too? The refrigerator is the most expensive appliance in a household and for it to rust - is simply defective.
Looks great - but would not recommend.

Broken Door Hinge

Freezer door cam hinge riser which is the plastic piece that sits on top of the bottom hinge cracked after 2 years and required $166 repair. Make sure you budget for this .

Samsung Refrigerator

I had previously went for another model of this Samsung Refrigerator, however, when I seen the lightning display on this one and the sleekness of it; I knew this would be my refrigerator for my kitchen. It accents amazingly and it is deep inside and holds a large amount of items. This ice maker and water dispenser work very nicely. The water dispenser has maybe one drip of water after dispensing, if and when you remove your glass to soon. Overall, I love my refrigerator. Again, I just received this product on the 8th of October.

Samsung Refrigerator

I like the refrigerator, only negative is the wire wrack on the door seems to be useless do not know what you would put in it, is very small. The other thing is that only one shelf in the refrigerator can be adjusted. I cannot put anything very tall in the refrigerator without removing the wire beverage wrack.

Great service and deliver BUT...

The in store service person was awesome listened to what I said and presented me with the options I was looking for without trying to up sell me too much. The delivery team was awesome as well, a great bunch of guys who went out of their way not to damage the product or my home...however, the fridge water dispenser did not work and the freezer light doesnt turn on when you open the door. Luckily we dont need the water dispenser, everything else works great and it looks beautiful.

No catch tray for ice/water dispenser!

I don't know why Samsung would make an ice dispenser without a catch tray below. If it's leaking or your kids are messy the ice/water goes all over the floor because there is only a tiny catch reservoir that you can't even dump out. You have to put a towel in to absorb the water. Very strange. As far as other experience so far with this fridge, the ice maker is pretty crappy. It gets stuck every once and a while, so I have to remove the unit and clear it out and then it's not easy to get back on. And I'm not even that old. And forget about calling Sears Home Services. The customer service people are useless and rude, and it always takes AT LEAST A WEEK to get an appointment. My brand new dishwasher was leaking all over my floor, but they said the next available appointment was 8 days later. Really???

Unfixable

Does lemon law apply?

It seems this is a luck of the draw. I saw there seemed like equally good and bad. Now it seems only bad reviews. This is great on space, but it is being made with cheap parts. I have called the warranty people over and over. One month in, it starts making a terrible noise when getting water. Have to turn off ice maker so won't be awakened in the middle of the night. Guy comes out a week later, rotates water filter, no problem. Week later starts again. Two weeks later guy comes back out. Listens to me, orders a part. 3weeks later they come put the part in. Next day the freezer is dripping water. There are icicles hanging all over the ice maker and down the door. Turn off water, and call warranty again. Week later a guy comes out to order a part.

This too could be your life. The time between calls and service could be shorter if you don't have a job.

Other than that it is huge! But you have to like store the food the way Samsung thinks you need to. Shelves don't move.

Very poor icemaker

We bought this refrigerator a year ago based on a number of excellent reviews it had received from others. While we like the spaciousness we are very disappointed in the icemaker. First, it is quite small for a refrigerator of this size. Second, it has stopped making ice three times, We have had the icemaker replaced twice and are in the process of placing another service call to Sear's on this item. Third, when it does make ice it is very slow in doing so. I would not recommend this refrigerator to anyone.

Stopped working after 6 months

We were very excited when we bought all new appliances this past fall. Six months later, the circuitry on the Samsung side by side broke down and we have been without a fridge for 2+ weeks. Sears' service company, A&E has shown up at 8 pm every time they come and they still can't get it fixed. We are very disappointed in the poor repair service. Do yourself a favor and buy a GE from a company that actually believes in good service.

Ice maker a little tricky

Like a previous reviewer, we got one bucket of ice at first and then the fridge stopped making ice for about a week; I had to reset the ice maker, bump up the freezer temperature from -4F to 0F and go through the calibration procedure and now all is well... the LED lighting inside is great, lots of room, quiet... we were able o get rid of two old refrigerators and put everything from both into the Samsung.

Stainless Steel rusted after 14 months! Bad Icemaker too!

I bought this as Consumer Reports rated it high, why I will never know! Our first one went bad within a two weeks, just in time to ruin all our Thanksgiving food. We bought the "extra" insurance to replace bad food, but the service could not come out for three weeks and since the store manager replaced the refrigerator to help us out the insurance would not replace the $300 in food we bought as a Tech did not pronounce it dead. The second one started showing rust spots on it about 12 months later. Sears says this is not a covered item, but if it is real stainless it will not rust when properly cared for as I have done. On the ice maker, we have had a total of 4 service calls, replaced once after the second call. The icemaker has to be monitored daily or it stops working, part of the time we have ice, then we dont. I would NOT recommend this refrigerator. PS Samsung said they will not help us with the rust. Between the cost of refrigr and the warrantys we now have a $2200 rustingbox

Nice, but why can't Samsung get the pictures right

We recently had this refrigerator installed and we like it a lot, however I had one issue. All of the pictures of this item show it with a silver-bodied dispenser and chrome dispenser lever. It actually comes with an all-white dispenser which give it a plainer, less-premium look.

Most stores only have the stainless model on their showroom so it comes as a surprise when this arrives. I'm ordering stainless handles and a new dispenser lever to dress mine up.
