Doesn't Get Better

I always refer to **************** when I make a big purchase and they were pro Sole big time. It's not easy for a company to get such a resounding endorsement from them so I knew they must be a great company. I am so happy and want to add my comments to validate what everyone else is saying, if you want a piece of equipment for your home, look no further than Sole.

Sole E35 Ellipticals Suck

Received my new E35 Elliptical in an unworking condition. I was told new upgraded parts need to be ordered and in a week a "SOLE" technician will verify the machine is in proper working order. I suggest buying a Precor they usually arrive in working order.

Reviewers may have received a benefit, like a sweepstakes entry or rewards program points, in exchange for writing a review.
Those benefits were not conditioned on the positive or negative content of the review.

Overall, delighted with my E35 !!

We quit our gym membership and bought this machine last month. We have been using it almost everyday. It is more fun than a treadmill and is utterly silent while in use, and it has many combinations of ramp elevation and resistance to get the workout you want. Use the heart monitor and let the cardio program set the resistance so you workout in your target heart rate range. The fan emits a mere puff of breeze and is useless, use your own fan. The speakers are not great but they are not bad, either, quite usable and preferable to earbuds during a sweaty workout. It appears to be very well made although the blue team didn't seem too happy to put it together for us, at first. I believe that this is an excellent value for the money. Highly recommended!

Great product for the price

After we quit the gym we were looking for an elliptical similar to the ones we used at the gym and this one was a very close match. For the price it is well worth it, if assembled correctly the device is very quiet and works great.

Elliptical Sole 35

The elliptical sole 35 gives quite the workout. In one way, I hate it because it's hard work. But in another big way, I love it because it's giving me the work out that I want and need. It really works your cardio. It's also very quite, which is nice, so I can exercise any time day or night and not have to worry about waking anyone up. It was definitely worth the money.

The Sole E35 Elliptical has a smooth motion

This is a great elliptical in this price range. The action is smooth. The programs are adjustable for two users. There is a heart rate monitor on the handle. Once it was put together correctly it has been a great elliptical. Just make sure they put it together correctly.

Solid and silent

I got my elliptical a couple of days ago. I put it together by myself, because I enjoy that sort of thing. It's not at all difficult to put together even though it may look intimidating at first. The instructions are pretty clear between the text and pictures. I didn't have to look at any videos or anything like that, but I did have to re-read some steps a couple of times.

If you put it together, you will have a much smoother time if you have your own tools. I recommend a ratcheting screwdriver and socket wrench. Also, my camping head lamp came in quite handy. Some of the screws are in awkward, hard-to-reach and harder-to-see locations, and the head lamp helped a lot to see better what I was doing. I did use the provided tools a couple of times for skinny screw locations or tight fits where my screwdriver was either too wide or too long.

This thing is HEAVY! I recommend having it delivered to the spot where you want it. It's true that you can pick it up and roll it around once assembled, but I don't see me doing too much of that. It's still heavy and awkward. I'd prefer not to throw my back out moving the thing around too much--maybe just to vacuum under it occasionally. Also you are very TALL when you are on it. Make sure to measure it out before deciding on a location.

So I've used it once, and it is totally silent and smooth. The speakers are extremely LAME, although I didn't expect them to be BOSE quality. There is no way I will ever use them, but the fan on the console is nice. It's neat that the pedals will tilt. I'll have to play with that a little to see how it goes, but I like options. I also really like all of the different programs and heart monitor, but I haven't tried the heart monitor yet to see how it works.

Last, I bought this on my Discover card through their website. In this way, I got an extra 5% cash back on top of the sale price from Sears. For me it amounts to almost $60. I do so love cash back + sale price!

Obviously I'll have to see how it goes over time, but I'm all about keeping things nice and maintained. The E-35 seems very solid and pro, so I'll be surprised if it conks out on me. If it does, I'll be back here immediately to rake it over the coals. :-)

Great workout

When my treadmill died I really wanted a new piece of equipment, I started to research and decided on an ellipitcal, then did more research and decided on the sole E35 elliptical. I love the low impact and the addition of arms. There are alot of different workouts and levels, i have had it 9mo and havent tried them all.

Sole E35 Elliptical

I saw this item in the store and liked it. I had used the older model and thought the newer model would be just as great. When it was delivered I was told someone would be out within a few hours to install it, that never happened. Waited two days and even called to confirm someone would install it. Customer Service was no help at all. Finally installed it myself. First thing I noticed was it was not aligned. When the two main parts were connected the machine rocked on the center support, like a see-saw. Initially I thought it would align itself when it was all put together. It was out of alignment after installation was complete. Took it apart and re-installed it thinking it was fixed but it wasn't. I adjusted the foot supports on the rear of the machine hoping it would solve the issue. Noticed that with each stride the rear right side of the machine lifted off the ground no matter how much the foot support was adjusted. I eventually had to put something underneath the front end to get the machine to align itself. Not something I would normally do, but I wanted this machine to work for me. I decided to keep it set up how it was suppose to be, without the extra support I added. I tried it on two different surfaces and could not get it to align itself. Noticed cracking/thumping noises coming from the motor, which was already set up when it was delivered. Eventually decided this is not how I wanted to spend my money, with a headache trying to figure out how to get it to work right. I ended up returning it. It's too bad because I liked it.

Not perfect, but still good

The good: It's sturdy and appears to be well-built, it has a lot of program options for resistance and incline, the stride is pretty big so it's good for taller users, flywheel is quiet, steps are big.

The bad: The rollers do make quite a bit of noise (more than I would expect for a machine that costs this much), the stride may be too big for shorter people.

Overall I'm fairly happy with the Sole. I can see how the noise problem with the rollers can really bother some people, I just deal with it. I recommend it for taller users.

Sole E35 is great

I have not had the chance to use it too much yet, but the machine feels solid as a rock. It's smooth as silk and very quiet when using it. The programs are decent and the action, frontwards and backwards, offer a solid workout to fitness minded folks at any stage. Ours was delivered and put together by Maurice and his partner, part of the Sears 5 star team of installers. They were courteous, quick, and total professsionals. I was way impressed by them.

I'll come back and update this review after a month or so of use, but the early word is "Outstanding". Both the machine and the Sears Installers.

Sole E 35

My wife and I purchased this item after looking at dozens of elliptical machines ranging from several $100 to a few $1000. This machine has everything you would want from an elliptical at an exceptional price.

Sears not only delivered it to my house they put it together second (Make sure that's on your request). The only problem I had was they sent people that had never put one together before. When I first tried it out it made a clunking noise so I called Sears and they sent a new machine and a different crew. The second crew figured out the first group hadn't tightened the bolts so it was an easy fix.

But when I purchased the machine I was told experts were coming to my house to put these things together. They would be able to program the machine and ensure everything was to spec. They weren't even able to answer our questions other than to say check the manual, which WASN"T included in our first box.

Sole home site very helpfull !

Just put together a sole e35. The instruction booklet is a little hard to follow, small illustrations, hard to see what to do.Went to the Sole home page and found an assembly video fore the e35. It was very helpful and informative.took my time and didn't hurry so it took a while to assemble.but wasn't to hard to do.You can watch the whole video or it's split into the four steps like the instructions.Powered right up worked out, smooth, quite, stable. Only time will tell how durable it is.

Makes exercising better

I've owned this for a few years. In that time, it has performed reliably and smoothly. It has a variety of programs and functions that should suit just about anyone. I like the fact that you can save a unique program. The machine is very stable and quiet. It should be stable--the flywheel weighs a ton. But this is key to the stability.

My husband assembled the elliptical. We did not have any missing parts. It took several hours but it wasn't that bad.

The Sole E35 is a wonderful excercise machine.

My husband bought us one to help us excercise at home. The unit operates smoothly and is easily adjustable. We just love it.

Assembly was easy (he did it). He did mention the online video easy to follow. We don't have any of the noise problems other people mention. Again, watch the video and it will work fine.

Dead on arrival

We bought the machine two weeks ago at a Sears store. We also paid Sears $160 for professional installation. The machine was delivered and then the expert arrived and put it together. After the installation, the machine won't switch on; it is dead, no power in. The expert said that we had to call the store and get it replaced.

Now we are back to square one. They are planning on replacing it for a new one and send the expert back to put it together.

The reason for this bad review is becuase the expert said that this has happend with several of these machines already. So this is not an isolated case, it is a common issue.

Sole E35 Elliptical

I LOVE this machine! I have worked out for over 10 years in gyms and wellness centers and never thought I could find a machine that compared to the commecial quality I expected. I usually workout for 1 1/2+ hours and needed a machine that could withstand my high impact. The Sole E35 has been fantastic! The only thing I would add would be to increase the size of the ledge. I also enjoy reading while working out but my books will only fit if I 'tie' them in place. Even so I highly recommend this machine to anyone ready to get fit.
