Rack feels heavy duty. Mounts easily. BUT.. doesn't hold much weight. Should be used for skis or snowbords or fishing rods. The problem I had with this rack was not really with the rack it's self, it was with the way it was shipped to me TWICE!The rack was damaged in shipping both times. The adjustment screws stick out just eneough to damage the cross bar's plastic coating. GOUGED so much the brackets couldn't be slid into adjustment. AND one of the e-6 brackets was so bent it couldn't be mounted to my 1990 Camry. It looks like it would be good if you can get one that's not damaged. Good luck. UPS sucks!

Just picked up the roof rack at the merchandise pick up center - apparently I should have gone to automotive but the sales ticket didn't indicate the difference in pick up locations...but the salesman went round for me, and that was great. HOWEVER, he handed me a repackaged item: product was missing the allen wrench, and it doesn't fit a small Honda CRV - "what's up with that? "Am I missing a part??" The item description implies this is a universal product -- fits all size cars. The instructions only mention a variance in set up for a camaro and mustang, I believe. Now what? Had an early am trip planned and now no plan B!! Disappointed and the trip to and from the store, an hour each way:(
Reviews inidicated an easy assembly - not for me, unfortunately.
I can't review the product as I still do not have it. Sears saays it was shipped, UPS says they are still waiting for the product. The Customer service at Sears was no help at all, and told me to be patient. The product was ordered 4 weeks ago and I still know nothing about it. Sears had no problem tacking their money, but when it comes to deliverying my product, I wait on the phone for hours and am empty handed. I will NEVER use Sears again.
I bought this rack for a 2003 Toyota Corolla. I installed it with no problem. The directions were clearly laid out. I adjusted the setting to those for my vehicle, took it out to the car and had it secured within 15 minutes. I've taken it off and on several times in less than 5 minutes.
It works great with a cartop carrier. Someone in the family just gave me two Yakima bike attachments for their roof rack system. I have to figure out how to mount them on this. Hopefully, I can find out how on one of the biking forums.
The only negative attribute that it has is the locks. They seem pretty chinzy. I think if someone wanted to take the rack, they will have little problems getting by the lock. But if they did get by it, they will need the right sized allen wrench to take it off the car (hopefully, the theif won't be bright enough to carry one). But I do not plan on leaving it on the vehicle for any extended period of time.
This rack system does the job for me and was $100 cheaper than any other brand that I could find.
