Holds up for a welder!!

Great boot. My husband owns two pair of these at all times. He wears one at work and he loves them so much he has a second pair at home to wear everyday. Then when the work ones are worn out he takes his goods ones to work. Then off to Sears to buy another pair for home. They really stand up to his work conditions. He is a welder, so these boots are perfect. He is always down on his knees with his toe touching steel, so the rubber toe saves the boot. The steel toe never becomes exposed.

These Timberland shoes fell apart within months of light use

I am NOT a worker, I just like workboots since they're more versatile. I usually wear the same pair of shoes no matter what I'm doing, and I'm very gentle with them. I bought these shoes about 9 months or so ago, and during the winter they began to leak more and more. The shoe laces frayed and fell apart, and now the leather at the back split and tore. I can't put them on anymore, they're effectively useless. When I told my friend about these shoes back when I bought them, they laughed and said "good luck, man, Timberland doesn't last me a week." Turns out they were right.

I contacted Timberland and voiced my concerns, and was given a boilerplate warranty claim saying I could sent them in AT MY COST and they'd CONSIDER replacing them. I will never buy another Timberland product, I swear.

STAY AWAY FROM TIMBERLAND!

Oh, and to the review here that says they get "awsome traction", that person is crazy. Google this shoe, and you'll see plenty of people like me complaining about the poor traction and non-selfcleaning lugs of this model.

Good boot but not best...

This is a boot that will last about 2-3 years and will look good to the end because of that front rubber guard but takes some time to brake in...I just got some Red Wings and they don't seen to need a brake in time and have better soles...

Too Big & Heavy for Me

This really is an overall great boot. I loved the comfort and durable outer material. This is a true workers boot and will stand-up to any task. However, I was looking more for a less bulky boot because I mainly use my steel toes to walk around the factory and wanted a lighter boot.

very durable and comfortable

This is my second pair, I have never ordered the same boots twice. these boots lasted about two years most boots that I have owned last about 1 year. The soles are made like anti fas tigue mats and are very comfortable, The only down side is that they are a little heavy.

Oustanding!!!

These are so great!!! These are very comfortable, obviously not light due to are meant to heavy work. I've rather to keep my feet safe and wear something that for sure won't let you down. The traction is magnificent, and I love the out sole and the way holds your weight. It's definitely PRO.

timberland

Had another pair, but steel toe was exposed with in 8 days of wear.  But were really confotable!  So tried this pair, as the other, took no break in.  This pair, I bought from sears, really bother my left ankle, but can find no reason for it, except, bad assembly!

Outstanding performance.

These shoes have been a great tool in my work life. Normal boots last me months, due to how hard I am on them. Mine have lasted me a year and two months, whereas other boots deteriorated when in contact with grease and cleaning agents within three months. Their traction is superb, this coming from some one who has work in a diner kitchen and subjects his boots to all sorts of hand work, 60-80 hours a week regularly. They do fray and break over time, but long out last any other companies model that I have come across.

Excellent Durable Boot

This is the second pair I have owned. I work as a mechanic/welder outside and inside factories, in all sorts of nasty conditions. Usually a normal pair of steel toed boots only last me about 3-4 months. My last pair of these I owned I had for about 9 months before they wore out, which to me, is just amazing considering what I put them through. They are comfortble and they don't have a "breaking in period" so I can just put them on and go without having blisters the next day like most other brands of boots I've owned. I would definately reccommend these to anyone looking for a boot that will take alot of abuse.

Great Work Boots

I work as a Mechanic and spill all kinds of oils and chemicals on my shoes and these held up great. I'm also over 6 feet and 220 lbs and have always just shredded the toe on all my boots so the steel toe shows through but not these. First time the sole of my boots work out first. Also i've tried redwings, catepillar, die hard and other boots but these have been my favorite and plan on sticking with these for the rest of my career.

The most comfortable boot I have ever worn.

I have been wearing work boots as long as I can remember and these boots are without a doubt the most comfortable boots I have ever had on my feet right out of the box. I feel price should be no object when I am required to stand all day in safety boots. I would gladly pay another $50-$75 to buy these boots. I cannot say enough good things about them. I recently bought my second pair to replace the ones I had for over a year. The cushioning effect these boots have stayed unchanged from the first day out of the box until the day I replaced them. They come with a thirty day comfort guarantee and I think they probably haven't needed to refund any money yet. I like to shop for my clothes by purchasing the size I currently wear without having to try a bunch of stuff on, these boots are the same way, I can send my wife to the store for the right size boots knowing they will fit and be problem free.
