I read the reviews on this and the other learning tablets/readers. This one had the best so I bought it for my 4 year old Grandson for Christmas. I played with it for awhile before wrapping it.
He says "I love my ninnotab" other than it does eat batteries, but no more than my camera does for the price you can't beat it for a learning/fun/game device
I read where you should buy an SD card and load more games, music etc on it but so far he's happy playing with the games that are on it and the cartridges he got from other relatives for it.
I like that he's learning instead of knocking over angry birds or jumping over bad guys on some of the computer games he plays.
I recommend this to parents/grandparents to buy.
The Vtech Innotab Has easily become My daughters favorite toy. She spends a great deal of time using it, both alone and with me helping. It is responsible for a great leap in her reading skills and her enjoyment of the written word. I find it yery easy to use and a great way to illustrate the value of reading as a skill needed in everyday life. I would recommend this tool for every parent as a way to make learning an important part of having fun.
My daughter likes it but the battery life only last one day. I do buy the good batteries. It does not come with a charger but you can plug it in and use it. If i could go back i would buy the leap frog i heard the battery life is great on that. The tablet is good but because of the battery life i would not have bought it.
Iw as going to get the LeapPad for my 2 year old daughter, but they were sold out. we ended up getting the innotab instead. I was suprised to find that it is better than I expected. It is faster than the leap pad, and has removeable storage. The leap pad doesn't have extra storage. It's a great buy for the money and I am glad we got it! Not to mention my 2 year old loves it!
its a great learning device my 3 yr old grandaugther has learned to count and do mind shaping things wich will lead to an early learning skills i reccomend this to all with small kids a great toy but more so a learning device they wont put down like other toys
I brought the Innotab for my 3 yr old son and its awesome learning product. It's user friendly for the age of toddlers and can be inhanced on learning programs as they grow.
My daughter loves the innotab. She calls it her ipad. So many different games for her to play and heps her with learning.
I just everyone to know that the Inno Tab is a really great learning tab (some say "system" as in a child's or kids hand held game system) I am here to say that in fact it is learning tablet and your child will learn so much and they have so much fun doing so they think its a just a "game". The best part is you can so call "play" with them!!! You have so many learning cartridges to chose from. Such as Dora and boots (mikie loves that one) Cars, Toy Story, the Little Mermaid, all the Fairy tale Princesses. My youngest turned 3 last month when he got his tab and i found myself awed at how things changed with him...walking around and really counting not the 1346 stuff it was the real thing up to 10!!! in four days that's all and believe i tried to teach him that and to finish saying each word that would he would try but it was slow going and he and i tried hard to help each other. If these were made when my first child was 3 I really think it could have been so much help when he started school and with the Downloads that v-tech offers i know for a fact because he uses the tab that he would still be able to use it today and he's 9! I honestly wish they had come out with this back then! Like I said it's honestly Worth it's Weight in GOLD!!!
Got this for our 5 and 7 year olds. They constantly want to use the tablets. Only minus is the difficulty linking up with VTech's website with the tablet.
I love it and my daughter loves it but the batteries do not last long and I am having the hardest time finding an adapter. I would recommend to a friend only if you can find the adapter.

My 6 year old loves this item, and I purchased it for Christmas. A couple of things you need to know is that 1) it burns through batteries like crazy - which I had already anticipated. The solution is to get the Vtech AC adapter for about $10. I purchased mine instore at Kmart. (I also plan on getting the car charger, as well). 2) It is really quite necessary to also buy a memory card. I bought one yesterday, 8GB, at Walgreens for $20. You will not be able to download any other forms of media or data without one. Once I inserted the memory card, I downloaded the Learning Lodge. From that program, I uploaded pictures, mp3s and more games and e-books. The site is very user friendly, and it was easy to upload the data. E-books and games were as little as $3, with actual cartridges running higher. I have yet to upload movies onto the device, but I will do so soon. I believe this item is functional for entertainment and education and will last for quite some time.
My 4 year old son received this as a recent birthday gift. He along with my 2.5 year old daughter love playing with it. While we only have the TS game insofar, both children can spend an eas y 30 mins to 1hr with the toy. It's a great alternative to the Ipad -- I take this with to restaurants, get aways and other people's homes --- it will endure bumps, falls, etc.
Got it for Christmas after researching leap frog and comparing the two. Innotab had better reviews. Glad I have it. He just love it.
MY 4 YEAR OLD LOVES THIS TOY IT MAKES HIM FEELL LIKE THE OLDER KIDS.I REALLY LIKE THE APPS.I JUST WISH IT CAN WITH RECHARGEABLE BATTRIES .OUTHER THAN THAT IT HAS BEEN A GREAT DERABLE LEARNING SYSTEM .
The question for Christmas was Innotab or Leappad. We went with the Innotab based on the price and availability of memory expansion (up to 32GB SD card). The graphics look sharper on the innotab and the cartridge selection albeit slim has wowed our kids. Some parents mentioned in other reviews the ability to import movies to the SD card, though we haven't tried it I will be trying that soon as it will also serve as a personal video player. The camera would have been nice but quite frankly we have an older camera the kids can use so we weren't too worried about that. That and the limit of the storage on the leap pad made the innotab a winner hands down.
Rechargable batteries are a must, the kids will not want to put it down.
Cons:
Vtech customer support
Seems like a great electronic for kids. I am currently looking for one for my son, but cant seem to find one. It seems like this might be one of those "best toys of the year" kinda thing.
