bar bent with only 180 lbs

Bought this for my son 18 months ago. He only presses 180 lbs, but the bar now has a bend in it. Spoke with Sears, as well as Weider, but both only say 90 day warrenty. Bar shouldn't bend with significantly less weight than even came with it. Now have to buy a new bar (not Weider). Would never buy from them again. Poor quality and don't stand by their product.

Good for lighter weight

This bar was great for a couple years, then started to bend when my husband put more than two 45 lb plates on each end.

Quality Weights

|

Very happy with the weights I purchased. Weights are easy to carry and load onto the bar. Bar is sturdy and well built. Only concern is how the bar was packaged. Made it difficult to carry and had to remove from the box in order to transport.

Maybe I should have weighed out...

|

So the reviews are correct about the plate hole being bigger, i should have waited for a different review, but since I was anxious to get buff and this fit the bill so I bought it but the plate wiggle and it's pretty annoying. Other than that, bar is sturdy and weigh plates are good quality, they just need to work on the hole size issue.

Good price for the Olympic style weight set. Seen a few complaints about the bar but look at the price.... I bought two of these sets not for the bar but for the weights and chose the free site to store *************. weights are good quality, and the bar will sufficient for my needs.

OK for the price

|

For the price (using discount codes or coupons), these are OK. I bought two sets about 2 weeks apart. They must not have Quality Control over at Weider because the second set was horribly crafted. I haven't weighed them yet but I'm sure they will be off. They also don't have the "hammertone" type V that makes my first set a breeze to pick up off the floor. The first set, however, was beautiful! So it seems this is kind of hit or miss.

The bars are average at best. I put 300lbs and then I stood on top of the bar (to test my power rack) and all the weight held fine. I expect to replace the bar in a couple years with something better.

Overall what are we doing here? We are pulling, pushing; picking weight up and putting it down. There is no point in spending hundreds more for the same thing as these will work just fine.

3 stars because although I am happy with my buy, the first set and second set were nothing alike. When I purchase two of something I expect them to be identical.

Misleading

|

I thought this product was a total of 210lbs. in weights. Didn't disclose that it wasn't. Didn't know until getting home and taking everything out of the box that they include the bar in the weight. Also, the weights aren't completely smoothed, they're rough going on to the bar. Disappointed... for the price I paid. Feel its over priced for the quality and quantity.
