Whirlpool 24.7 cu. ft. Upright Freezer - White

This freezer is fantasric!

The 25 cu ft freezer is just what my family needed. It is able to fit all of the specials we purchase for our active family. It is especially easy to view all of the items, and there is no wasted space. I highly reccommend it!

Size

This is the second Whirlpool Upright freezer in just 7 months and neither one has worked properly. The first one was bought in Nov 2011 and it frosted up all the time even after having it worked on 3 times. Had it replaced in June 0f 2012 and it frosts up all the time. My food won't freeze properly. Trying now to get my money back to purchase another brand.

So far the freezer is working great....We had a 26 cu.ft. freezer that was full of meat and quit working and had to be replaced quickly....The new freezer took all of the meat that was in the old freezer with space to spare...Outstanding setup in the interior with two pull-outs.....Along with shelves and plenty of door storage....

I am enjoying this freezer it holds a lot of food. I have been having it for about 6 months. I really like that after the door has been open to long it begins to ding, and ding and ding.... which is a plus for me, there are people in my home who think they can cool off in the freezer with the door open, however you can turn it off. I think the shelves could have been made a little sturdier in the middle when there are heavier items on them. But all together it is a keeper. I am loving the 4 shelves and 2 baskets that are under two of the shelves which allow it to hold more food. It also has 6 shelves on the door which holds more items, this give me lots more space to put food for my business and home. Cool. It is so much better than the last one I had, other than the shelves looking like they are sinking in in the middles when more food is on it, it's all good. RJ Tucker

This freeezer has great capacity

Overall we are very satisfied with our new freezer. We bought the large capacity to hold an abundance of meat and groceries. Half of a beef, half of a prok and lots of venisen. The door shelving and storage area is superb. One small draw back is that the bottom basket is so large (which is a good thing) that it doesn't want to stay on its track and this makes it a little more difficult to get the basket in and out of the freezer. I would definetly recommend this freezer for its large capacity.

Whirlpool Upright Freezer is not reliable

This is a freezer with a beautiful amount of space. I especially love all the shelves on the door. I only wish it would keep working. It has been almost a year since we purchased this freezer, and in that time it has quit twice, spoiling a lot of food. A technician has been out to fix it, but I'm afraid it will quit again after the warranty is up... and then it will be our problem.

Good capacity and keeps it cold!

While I am satisfied overall with the freezer (it works well at freezing), I am a little upset that the light burnt out within 3 months and the alarm feature is not working...or should I say, working over time? I don't know if it was from a power surge (this is a newly-built home) or if it's just the freezer, but the temperatue warning alarm has to be left in the OFF position or else it just dings forever. The temperature is fine, so the alarm seems to be faulty. I'll admit, I have not done any trouble-shooting at this point or called for service, I just turned it off. We have owned it for about 9 months; it has only been in use for 6. It hums quietly; I only notice it when I am in our laundry/mud room where it is located. You can't really hear it outside that room.

Plenty of room in this Whirlpool freezer

We purchased this freezer a few months ago for a church. The old freezer you had a bad door seal which became an issue. After losing too much food, it was approved to buy a new one. When I started looking I knew we needed a big freezer and this was the biggest one I could find. This freezer has some really nice features... frost free, temp alarm, and an alarm that goes off if the door is left open for too long. Although freezer takes up more space than most, we love the large capacity.

Whirlpool 24.7 upright freezer quit after 4 days

Why did I buy this freezer? It was delivered on 7-27. Filled freezer on 7-28. Left for the weekend on 7-29, came home on 7-31 to a freezer of thawed food. Both sears and whirlpool customer service are a JOKE. Besides having a bad freezer, i am out 1/4 beef, 1/2 hog, and other meat, ice cream, etc. Thanks a lot

Avoid like the plague - I would not give any stars

I purchased this freezer because it had a lock. The lock never worked (even after trying 5 of them). To add insult to injury, the freeze stopped working after 4 months. Do no purchase this freezer.

Spacious freezer holds lots of frozen food. Price was competitive with freezers with far less storage capacity. Fit our needs.

Whirlpool upright freezer has ample room

We love the Whirlpool upright freezer, that we purchased from Sears, after ordering beef from I/2 cow. We needed a lot of room, and this freezer accomodated our purchase. There was still room enough to keep vegetables that we froze from last fall, and store purchases that I make weekly. There is plenty of room in the door, with ample racks for storage, along with a special compartment with a door to keep ice cream. The freezer is kept in our garage, so it doesn't run much in the winter, but it's extremely quiet when it does run.

I would recomend this freezer to anyone that needs a lot of freezer space, as it holds a very good amount of food, and everything is easy to get to. You can keep everything so organized because of the compartments in the door.
