Description Specifications
A dryer with intelligence. The Whirlpool 7.0 cubic foot electric dryer features the AutoDry™ system, which senses when clothes have reached the right temperature and stops the cycle to save energy.
This Whirlpool electric dryer also has 13 automatic cycles and 4 temperature settings to give you precise control over your drying, while the Wrinkle Shiel™ option helps prevent wrinkles from settingin after the load is finished. Now that's smart.

 • Toss an entire load into the dryer without leaving anything out due to lack of space. With a 7.0 cu. ft. capacity dryer drum, there's plenty of room to easily handle any load you wash in the matching top load washer.
 • Don't forget a load in the dryer. You can set the end-of-cycle signal to chime when the cycle is finished, or you can turn it off entirely.
 • Save energy. The Energy Preferred option is automatic. Use this dryness level as your starting point for automatic drying on most fabrics.
 • Prevent over-drying. The AutoDry™ system takes the guesswork out of drying time and enhances fabric care. The system senses when clothes are dry and stops the cycle to save energy.
 • Prevent wrinkles. The Wrinkle Shield™ option periodically tumbles clothes for up to 40 minutes after a cycle.

Good Dryer with the Right Amount of Features

Large drying capacity with a good amount of features. Not the fanciest, but certainly excellent value for the price. Easy to set up, with clear directions. If your looking for a basic, yet full function dryer, at a reasonable cost, this is the one you want.

Poorly made

The dryer worked fine, for the first day of use. Second day of use...I pushed the start button, and when it was released the dryer quite running. Electrician diagnosed a faulty relay switch. Now I have to wait 10 days for a service call for my new dryer. Ugh.

All you need

Can't beat the price and quality. Nice large door access. Clothes dried quickly. Like the wrinkle guard. Not alot of fancy nobs and dials...but it's dryer, not a shuttle command module. Dries my clothes in about half the time of my old Frigidaire. The buzzer is loud, wish the sound was a little more pleasing, but it gets your attention.

The Best

This is the best dryer I have ever owned. It can handle large loads and dries quickly. It's simple to operate, and quiet. Would highly recommended!

Great.

The only problem is the legs to level it. They suck. Otherwise, it was easy to install and works fantastic.

This dryer is good it isnt the best. It has many differnent settings so it has differnt choices. The best is the automatic cause i feel like it dries my clothes better thatn the timed. but i do use both. and i like that its easy to use, its not so comlicated.

Whirlpool 7.0 cu.ft. electric dryer

I only wanted a basic dryer as multiple features have been unnecessary for most needs. This dryer has a very large drum, is lighted, quiet, and meets all my needs simply and effectively. I feel it was a good buy on sale for $403. A more expensive model would not have done the job any better. I have had the dryer for a month and am completely satisfied with no problems.

whirlpool dryer womans best friend

I have been without a dryer for several months. After my dryer was installed I had several loads of clothes to catch up on. I am all caught up thanks to my new dryer, worked great and did not take long to dry my clothes. Wonderful product.

The Whirlpool 7.0 cu. ft. Capacity Electric Dryer works great

The Whirlpool electric dryer is very efficient on getting our clothing dry in a short amount of time. It tumbles the clothes just right and keeps the wrinkles out. The dryer runs quietly too!

NOISY

I brought this based on the reviews. However compared to the cheaper brands I owned in the past, it failed. It's noisy. The door clamp feels and looks cheap. I'm very cautious when closing. I can easy see that being a problem down the road. Yes it has a big door and lighted drum. Is that really important. I tried the energy saving settings and my clothes were still wet. Therefore I had to go back to the ordinary timed dry. I'm very disappointed. I wish I could turn this in for less expensive one.

Whirlpool Dryer: Nice, Big Dryer

I have owned this dryer for over a month now and have been very pleased with it. I do like the lighted drum and big door. The moisture sensor works great, the only problem I have had is with thick socks I do have to dry them longer. Jeans, blankets, and towels dry easily and it does not leave wet spots.

We did have a concern when we first got the dryer, within probably first five loads, it started making this squealing noise. The owners manual said that sometimes it does this when you first get the dryer, it still made me a little nervous. My husband tried re-stabilising the dryer and it still made the noise for part of the load and then it stopped and has never done it since.

We paid about $350 for this dryer.

Overall I would recomend this dryer, I think it does a good job of drying things quickly and efficiently.

I bought both the washer and dryer in this model and love both. There are five people in my home and this set is keeping up very well.

Whirlpool Dryer...a great buy!

The only con I can say about this is the machine they delivered had the bottom part of the door bent out just a bit so it doesn't seal perfectly. I didn't want to go throught he trouble of getting a replacement. The dryer is great other than that. I have had this jsut a little over a month now and everything does what it should. Not sure if the moisture sensor actually works or not as I normally throw a load in and leave but it's only been a few times that I had to "redry" a load because it hadn't gotten completely dry just using the normal energy saving setting. These have been mainly a load of jeans or towels...heavy items. Great for the money! I had bought a Cabrio washer but didn't want to spend the money on the price of the Cabrio dryer. This was a great replacement for that!

So Far So Good!

Have had the unit two weeks. Love the lighted, spacious drum and big door opening. I use the Energy Preferred setting and clothes SEEM to dry faster even at medium temp but--haven't timed that yet. I chose the unit to have manual temperature choices (-some dryers dry too hot, and shrink clothing). It's pretty quiet in operation. If it holds up a long time without repair I'll be happy with this good-for-my-needs dryer. At just over $350 on sale the price was right too.

Whirlpool 7.0 cu. ft. Capacity Electric Dryer (WED4800X)

We bought my Kenmore Dryer about a year ago and it's worked like a charm! We were considering getting a used dryer from the classifieds and my husband said that you wouldn't know if there was something wrong with those dryers or not - so we just decided to go all the way with Sear's and glad we did!
