During unpackaging and initial inspection, I notice the bottom rear frame cross support was bent... There was no evidence of damage to the shipping box in that area... I assembled the wheels and handle, installed the oil in the engine, and put about 2 gallons of gas in the fuel tank... Turned on the fuel petcock and the unit fired up on the very first pull... I was impressed. As it was running smoothly, I noticed that gasoline was dripping from the bottom of the tank behind the fuel petcock area onto the engine. Definitely a fire hazard..! I shut the unit down immediately. I then checked the fittings on the petcock and they seemed tight... I drained the fuel from the tank and called customer service. Spoke with Dan Baltran in Peoria, AZ who was very helpful. I removed the fuel petcock at his recommendation and inspected it as well as the threaded opening on the bottom of the tank. The petcock was fine, but the tank had evidence of damage and cracks in it around the threaded hole area. Dan had me take pictures and email to him... Upon the receipt of my photo email, he replied and informed me he was shipping a new tank unit with a new petcock for added measure... I have a FedEx tracking number and ETA is Friday, 8-10-18 by end of day... Hopefully this will solve the leaking issue... I'm still not happy that this unit has a bent cross frame, but don't forsee it as an issue with functional performance of the unit itself. Better Quality Control needs to be taken in craftsmanship, assembly, and packaging and shipping of these units to customers...
Purchased a month a go. Very easy to assemble. Instructions are clear and easy to follow. Comes with oil and assembly tools. No problems whatsoever.
This is my third generator. Started with a small Coleman 2500 watt generator. That was for powering tools on the job site. It took a dump so I purchased a Champion 3500 watt which worked quite well. Sold that one before moving to Florida. (MISTAKE) ! Need a backup generator here, I believe, more than anywhere. After Irma passed thru last year and power was lost for 6 days, I decided I'd better get another. Just wanted something to power a few lights and the fridge, maybe a few fans too. The price on this FIRMAN was hard to pass up. Oiled it up, put gas in it and it fired right up. Ran is for about 30 minutes. Fairly quiet and appears to be very well made. I bought the unit with the wheel kit. I thought the cover was to be included but it wasn't. That cost me another $25 bucks. Had it not been for the extra purchase I would have given it 5 stars. IMO this is allot of generator for the money and well worth it.
Is a easy to assemble , easy to start and works Perfectly
I have started the generator once and it works fine. I anticipate the hurricane season to be quite active and then we will see re preformance.
