We are overall very happy with the quality and performance of this air conditioner. Reasonably priced.
Decibel rating says 58.7. Not true. It is 64 decibels at the quietest setting, which is fan set to high. Like the Richter scale, Decibels are a ratio, not linear measurement so that is MUCH LOUDER than advertised. At the lowest most efficient fan setting the unit makes the most irritating grinding noise it simply cannot be used. The dimensions say 18.5 inches wide. Not true. The cabinet screws make the true width 18 3/4", which cost me more in installation costs to modify. The Sears Escondido CA store wants a 15% "restocking" fee ($40.35) to return, or I can exchange and pay another $144 in installation. So that means $184.35 for me to try this product. Online offer said ************* over $35. Not true. Which is why I drove 15 miles to the store to purchase. The store does not demonstrate anything. They are just a pick up location, not really a helpful retail shopping outlet. That's why ****** was invented. The fact that this review required me to sign up for a Shop Your Way account, and give up my email and mobile number for text ads speaks volumes. There were other issues (one a serious safety issue) but I'm not in the free advice business for Sears. I hope my loss is some value to other consumers. Sears appears to take no responsibility whatsoever for the inaccuracies of their products or offers.
Quiet, cools a huge room and kitchen down fast... And my power bill DROPPED big time. This unit barely uses energy at all
I did a lot of research before purchasing this unit. Very disappointed at the noise level - specifically of the fan, not the compressor. Even on Econ mode - it's super noisy.
