So far, I have bought two model S60X Accu-Gage Tire Gauges. These gauges are both accurate and repeatable to within about 0.25 psig, as verified by a precision calibration gauge. It's very difficult to obtain an incorrect (2 lbs under??!) pressure reading, unless you haven't the faintest idea of what you're doing.
I bought these gauges because they have:
-- A large 2" dial with a steel case
-- Overall very solid construction, no flimsy plastic
-- A precision movement with a geared, bronze Bourdon tube movement
-- A well-positioned bleeder-valve pressure adjuster
-- A hold-pressure-until-released feature
-- Excellent pressure accuracy/repeatability, much (!) better than is typical at this price
First one was 3 pounds short; returned it and replacement was 1 pound off. Also, when you pull it off the tire, it holds the reading but loses about 1/2psi...In my case, the first one read 28psi on the tire and 27.5 off the tire while the true pressure was 31psi. Testing was done with a Made in the USA Snap-On gauge and an equally expensive and extremely accurate Longacre; both of which read 31psi. If you can't test it, than I wouldn't trust it as in my case trusting that first one would have meant over-inflating by 3 pounds. For the price it's better than nothing and it will "get you close"...but if long term accuracy and quality is the goal, buy something else.
I was looking for the tire gauge like this, which has a big reading.
compact and accurate
Easy to read, use, and accurate!
This gauge works great. I'm pretty confident that it is pretty precise as well. I would recommend this because it is so easy to use and you don't have to push in a stick every time you use it like the cheap ones. I don't really trust the digital ones but that is my preference. It is very easy to hold on the valve stem and the reading will hold after you take your gauge off. The air release also works well. Very easy and simple to use. I keep this one in my car.
