MY VEHICLE IS A 2009 TOYOTA TACOMA, V-6, CREW CAB SHORT BED, WITH 4 WHEEL DRIVE AND T.R.D. OFF ROAD PACKAGE. I HAVE OVER 1000 MILES ON THIS SET OF TIRES THAT SEARS INSTALLED ON MY VEHICLE ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO. THESE NEW TIRES WERE REPLACING THE OLD BF GOODRICH RUGGED TRAILS THAT CAME ON THE TRUCK WHEN I BOUGHT IT. I KNOW 1000 MILES ISNT REALLY ENOUGH TO GIVE A GOOD THOROUGH REVIEW, ESPECIALLY SINCE THIS IS A NEWLY DESIGNED TIRE THAT CAME OUT MAY OF 2011, BUT I WILL PASS ON TO YOU WHAT I CAN. TO START OFF, THESE TIRES HAVE SHOWN VERY GOOD CHARACTERISTICS ON MY "DAILY DRIVER". ROAD NOISE IS THERE BUT NOT TOO BAD, NOTHING THE RADIO CAN'T DROWNED OUT. TRACTION IS GREAT! WE HAVE HAD SOME HEAVY RAINS LATELY AND I HAVE NOT HAD ANY HYDROPLANING ISSUES AT ALL ON THE HIGHWAYS. WITHIN THE FIRST MONTH OF HAVING THE TIRES I TOWED MY 16 FT. BOAT TO A COUPLE OF "SLIPPERY"/ ALGAE COATED BOAT RAMPS AND HAD NO PROBLEMS AT ALL, I DIDN'T EVEN HAVE TO ENGAGE THE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE. THE NEW TREAD PATTERN LOOKS GOOD AND APPEARS TO BE VERY FUNCTIONAL. I HAVE NOT HAD ANY CHANCE TO GET EXTREME OFF ROAD WITH THEM YET BUT I HAVE DRIVEN ON SOME UNIMPROVED ROADS AND GRASSY SURFACES WITHOUT ANY ISSUE. GAS MILEAGE APPEARS TO BE ABOUT THE SAME AS MY OLD BFG'S. HOWEVER, YOU WILL PAY A PRETTY PENNY FOR THESE TIRES. I DO RECOMMEND THIS TIRE IF YOU WANT SOMETHING WITH A FAIRLY AGGRESSIVE TREAD THAT ALSO FUNCTIONS WELL FOR DAILY USES. I WILL TRY TO REMEMBER TO UPDATE THIS AFTER OUR FIRST SNOW/ ICE. BY THE LOOKS OF THEM I DON'T FORESEE ANY PROBLEMS. HAPPY MOTORIN'!
Not impressed. I have owned tires for pick up trucks by 6 different manufactures and driven about 500,000 miles over the years. What I don't like about these BFG's on my Ram 1500 would be wet traction. When they were new they were not that great on wet roads and after 7,000 miles they are still poor. It finally snowed where I live and they are not great in light snow either. When it comes to dry roads they like to chirp and sequel where no other tires did that. I hope they last a long time because that will be the only thing to impress me at this point. Above average cost for a average tire so I would not buy them again.
Had a ton of snow and ice this winter and it ran great on both. Run BFG A/T's on my 2wd F-150. These T/A's are not as good as the A/T's in the snow in 2wd, but I have the T/A 's on my 4wd Tahoe. For the money I would say the T/A is a better value.
I’ve had these tires about 4 months now & I’ve probably put 3-4K miles on them. I gotta say I’m very impressed so far. Quiet, grip, they look really great, & most of all they impressed me on wet/icy roads. They grip extremely well on rainy days. Perform just as good as higher end tires. Off-road performance they did very well. I live where there is clay mud & they clean theirseves very well. Will be buying another set when these wear out. Will update on how many miles I get out of them. 2002 Silverado reg cab 5.3.
Tires get extremely stiff in cold weather and loose most traction. If there is no sand or stone down on snow you will be like me and slide through 1in 3 stop signs at under 5 mph.
2nd winter in Montana. Its been much colder this year. 5-20 degree high for Jan-Feb.
Warm weather is great as they are super quiet at highway speeds and in rain.
I bought these for my chevy Silverado and they aren't bad. They seem like they spin and try to dig in snow but that usually means more sliding. No flats but getting to where I'll have to buy new tires before winter and change from these.
I put over 120,000 miles on these and they were great. I had them on my Toyota FJ Cruiser.
