This blender is great and I got it for a really good price I love sears
Blender model BL2010WG seemed a good buy. However, the base of the blade, made of PVC, cracked the first time the blender was used to make a vegetable smoothie! I am looking forward to buying that part and make use of the blender because everything else looks alright.
We didn’t need a fancy blender and I thought this one would do the trick. It did for a little while but after less than a year and very sporadic uses the base of the jar cracked and broke, rendering the blender unusable. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
we have used this blender mostly for blending soup and making smoothies (w/o ice). we like the glass jar and the base seems solid. it has not worked well for pesto or recipes without lots of liquid. while we don't use it often, it is an appliance that we rely on...so when the gear 'element' made of plastic cracked while blending a soup, I was left to pull out the masher.
this little plastic gear connection from the base to the blade in the jar is something that is not available as a replacement part...can you find that part from a model whose motor is not functioning? as long as the motor works, I would like to continue using this 'good enough' model : ). thanks, n
