-The box is extremely heavy and assembly was easier than expected -Grill looks really nice and is solidly built -burner setup is different which leads to infrared cooking: you have burners then infrared emitters the ceramic grill that sits on top of the emitters -No hot spots detected, food cooks evenly for once -because of the setup no flare ups occur -cleaning of infrared emitters is required, the grill comes with a tool to do so -grill ignites immediately with the push of a button -definitely would recommend this to anyone who wants a solid grill; infrared cooking is a bit different from direct heat cooking but results in even heat and no flare ups and satisfying grill marks on food without the burn [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
We couldn't assemble the grill because we were missing the hardware kit and like 5 more parts. We had to return the grill.
The Positive. So if you're thinking about what machine to buy? This is so worth the money. Trust me on this one. I am a chef. This is the perfect size for any size family. The grill will fit about 15 burgers or 6 nice size MAN steaks. lol. It is sharp looking & not huge like most grills. The Negative: Unless you are pretty good at following okay directions (The pictures are not that great they could of done a better job showing you how to put it together.) I recommend you have sears put it together. It took me 3 hours to put It together & I have put a lot of things together. So If your 2 chromosomes away from being a potato.. have Sears do it for you. I found out later they do it for nothing or if your Sears charges you 40 bucks or less, It's worth it. But I LOVE Char-Broil Products. (No cheap pieces on this machine. this has VERY strong material.) You get your money's worth. Just wait till there on sale thou. you may save up to 150 - 200 bucks. p.s. Remember you get what you pay for. "Happy Grill Hunting".
This is a replacement grill for my last Char-Broil TRU-Infrared which was 9 years old. With the Infrared cooking system, you really do cook more evenly and the results are fantastic. No drips or flare-up - ever! I assembled myself (be prepared to spend 2-3 hours on it as there are many pieces. I would have given this 5 stars but the lid was shipped bent and had to be replaced. Other than that, all the parts on the Signature line are very very well made and durable. Cant go wrong here!
This is probably my fifty CB infrared grill (one is a portable I have for tailgating). Love them and would probably still be using the original one but I like getting a new one every couple of years. This one is worth a few more dollars with the two piece burner/emitter plate set up. The emitter plates stay much cleaner and will last much longer.
Wasn't sure how much an impact the infra-red would make but it does!!!! Juiciest, most evenly cooked steaks and chicken I've ever done on a grill. I converted to NG with kit during assembly and works flawlessly. It's made me want to grill more and more.
Overall a great grill; cooks evenly, and easy. The infrared system guarantees no flare ups. A bit touchy trying to keep low temps, but the main drawback is the infrared tray and grill grates are very susceptible to rust. I am going to have to replace the tray after this summer grilling season. Given my location (generally high humidity, out by the pool), I am worried I'll have to do that every year.
