I used this chest on a 5 day duck hunting trip in South Louisiana. It held as better than any other chest we used. I highly recommend getting one & any future chest that I purchase will be a Coleman!!!
Took it camping temperature was not over 90 degrees. .my ice did not last longer than. 12 hours. Would not recommend it for any outdoor activities.
Bought this cooler to transport frozen chicken and steak on an airplane. We didn’t open cooler for 2 days and when we did, everything was still FROZEN!!! Love this cooler!
I use this cooler on at least two four-day camping trips each summer with temps ranging from 70-90 degrees. It does hold ice for four days on trip and would longer if needed. Don’t listen to the negative reviews. If you pre-freeze your food, pre-chill the beverages, pre-chill the cooler, keep in the shade, and use ice blocks along with cubes, this cooler works. I own two of these and until the roto-molded coolers came out these were hands down the best and still are for the money. Ok, it’s not bear-proof and the hinges are junk, but this cooler keeps the stuff cold!
I use this cooler in the desert all summer and it does hold ice in 100 degree weather for 5 days when packed properly,
Incident Reference # 180709-000658 - The items I put in the cooler did not stay cold or frozen for the 5 days advertised. And keeping ice for 5 days is apparently not part of the warranty.
Rating this a 5 because it is exactly what it claims to be. Nothing special, but not inferior either and the price is reasonable. Bought to replace another, older generic Coleman cooler. Works well; even racoon proof as evidenced by muddy footprints on the lid after a morning of camping. (Still, I would recommend putting the cooler away in a car or something heavy on the lid since they probably could open it if determined. Certainly not bear-proof)
I feel like the handles might be the first thing to give out.
