Excellent buy. So pretty. Calming effect.

Bought this in store and it is already assembled, you just need to screw in the heater unit, easy. Add rollers to the bottom for portability. It is not heavy to carry either. Before I did any assembly, I wanted to make sure it wasn't going to blow a fuse or anything like that. Everything went fine. Easy to operate and the "flames" are better than I expected. Very calming. It is small so perfect for a small area. In the instructions it talked about putting together the drawer, it was already assembled with the handle on it. Very pleased with this item. When reading the manual, it was a bit scary saying do NOT use old, cracked outlets, etc. My house is old....but you do need the grounding plug.. Very important to have one per the instructions. I already had one. There is no thermostat just on/off button for the heater and an on/off button for the "flames". Very pleased with my purchase.

Returned after less than a Month

I was really excited to get this for such a great price. It was very easy to assemble and was of very good quality. The drawer underneath was an added bonus - even though I didn't have time to use it. As far as the purpose of this unit I was disappointed. You had to be close to it to even realize that heat was being distributed. The flame was very pretty to look at. After about 3 weeks there was a smell of something "melting or burning" when I turned it on. I waited another whole day before turning it on again only to find the same smell. Then when I went to turn the unit off the flame button wouldn't turn off. VERY ODD! I unplugged it and called customer service. I returned it a day later. Over all it was a great addition to my family room for looks - and it was just in time for my two year old and the whole Santa coming down the chimney we now had. I wish it would have served it's original purpose.

Very dissapointed!

Used for one winter and heat button quit working. I only used occasionally in my sunroom when company came, so it was not used all the time. Turned it on at Christmas this year and the heat cord burned up!. It would at least work when it was plugged up without using the button. Now it is useless and i don't have my receipt. Anything i can do?

Worked great for a year

I loved this when we got it back in December 2013. Heated my family room well. I loved that it had wheels so I could move it from room to room. Unfortunately it burned out a week ago. I can't locate a replacement heater for it.

electric fireplace

Watching the radiant flame & feeling the nice warmth from the heater warms up the whole living room & feels very cozy-very nice! It's also small enough to fit in the room nicely.

Non-adjustable heating, etc.

I needed a small fireplace (electric) for my guest bedroom. I've been looking for a small fireplace. I knew it didn't have a remote but my other small fireplace one could adjust the heat. You turn it on, period plus flame only worked if heater was on this new one. Would only recommend this product for a family room. Why? So you could turn it off when going to bed. Not good in bedroom unless you enjoy getting up when you get too hot. Nice looking, heats well, however, it needs to turn off once it reaches desired warmth. Bottom drawer, made very poor. Open it and hits the floor. Do not buy unless you don't care if it runs hor hours on end. So, checking into returning it. Sorry, I think it's a fire hazard! My original electric fireplace, a bit larger, under $200.00, has adjustable flame and many adjustable heat settings, say 1-6. I also added castors to roll into my bedroom. In Fla., does great job heating open floor plan and rolls!!

Burned Out

I bought one of these in Dec 2013. I used layaway to purchase it. In less than 3 months it had literally burned out. Sparks and smoke coming through the vents. Since I cannot find my receipt, I cannot take it back for a replacement or refund. I would not recommend this to anyone.
