It is like night and day how quiet the opener is. I have installed many gdo's in my life. I am now advancing in age and this one took me a little longer but was worth it. I needed to call the help line a couple of times to get some reassurance I was proceeding correctly. Three issues came up as i installed this gdo. First, when assembling the rail, the instruction arent totally intuitive as to the alignment. The four rails go together as shown in the picture. However the section farthest from the head unit needs to be aligned so the "Tab" is up. I did not pay attention and needed to drive this section off using a drift pin and realign it. No harm, no foul. Also pay attention to the piece that attaches the completed rail to the head unit as that also needs to be aligned correctly.
We had this model installed a week ago mostly because we were supposed to be able to control the garage door with our iPhones. The installer didn’t know how to set up the wifi. All he told us was that we needed to download an app. We downloaded the Craftsman app but we have not been able to connect the unit to our phones. I’ve tried many things, but nothing worked. The phone gives me either a “connection not secure” or a “no internet available” message. Sear’s help number was a total waste of time. I was transferred to another number where I was asked to leave a voice mail, but nobody has returned my call (this was 4 days ago). We are considering returning it before the 30-day deadline and getting a cheaper model.
I’ve been having so much problem with this garage door opener that I’m so mad. I called sears they sent someone to fix and I have to pay $150 so it would be fine if the problem was gone. But no, the same they the damm thing it wouldn’t close. So off course after I bought I was looking some review and same thing every time it’s very cold it’s just don’t work.
The opener is good but dealing with SEARS makes it not worth it!!
