Excellent product, but beware shady installers!

I bought this item and paid $99 for installation. When the subcontracted installer arrived, I was a bit hesitant but trusted Sears would fix any issues (which they are doing right now). He installed it very quickly, calibrated it, and demonstrated how to use it. Then he told me he needed to take the box for the serial number. In retrospect, he seemed very protective of it, but at the time I thought nothing of lettings him keep the extra metal parts and wires. After he drove away, I realized I was missing the safety sensors, outside panel, and backup battery. My fault for comparing it to a 20+ year-old unit that had none of that, let alone not taking inventory. But he did this so brazenly he probably gets away with this all the time with others who lack the knowledge to check at all.

Buyer beware

I have purchased several Craftsman garage door openers in the past. I bought this model because it was on sale. I purchased it 03/01/18 and installed it 03/04/18. Everything was fine until a few weeks ago when the wireless keypad stopped working. I ignored it until a few days ago when I decided to reprogram it. I changed the battery and followed the instructions in my manual. No luck. I went to Youtube and followed their instruction videos. No luck. I called Sears at the number listed in my instruction manual. I was transferred 5 times. I was finally told that I would have to pay for a service call (a minimum of $75) for a tech to determine if my keypad is defective. This keypad is a $44 part. My opener is just over 3 months old. Apparently Craftsmen is not what it used to be and Sears warranty is useless. I won't buy from them again.

Quite powerful opener

This opener from craftsmen is not stylish but does its job quite well. With 1 hp motor it lifts door like nothing. The installation is smooth with the manual, wifi feature with battery backup is quite useful. All I have to see how long can it last ,if it lasts as my other 15 yrs craftman opener ,that will be awesome.
