Wanted to stay loyal to Craftsman and found this for around same price as other brands. Heavier than the previous brand we had but also more powerful.
I used this maybe 5 times. Went to use it again and has no power. Tried different outlets and its definitely the grinder.
In early November I purchased a 4 ½” Craftsman angle grinder through Sears.com. When it arrived it was missing the Owner’s Manual. I contacted Sears Customer Care. After some discussion they took my number and said I would be contacted by another department. When I received no contact from anybody I down loaded a copy of the user manual from the internet. Reading the user manual, I found that not only was the user manual missing from the order but a spanner and 2 grinding discs which are supposed to be included accessories. I contacted Sears Customer Care and asked if they would send me the spanner since I cannot safely operate the grinder without it. After talking with 4 different Customer Care Representatives the resolution from them was that I return the item for a refund. I had already thrown away the box, packing material, and return paper work. If Sears really cares about Customer Care, the simple, logical solution would be to send me a spanner for this grinder since it is a small tool that could easily be sent in a small mailer. This solution would save the customer from having to repackage the grinder, arrange to send it back to Sears and work with Sears personnel to get a refund. It would save Sears from a lot of extra effort on their part and earn them customer good will.
Bought this on sale. Well worth the money. Works great for both grinding and cutting.
