Crafted from high tensile strength alloyed steel, this Craftsman 12pc Metric Universal Wrench Set deals out tons of torque, while designed for quick-moving work, each wrench is clearly marked with embedded numbers that help you grab the right size every time you reach for it. The perfect balance of grip and speed, this set combines the adaptability of a universal box with the fast grab and turn of an open end to get the job done, no matter is you’re in the garage, on the jobsite or over at Grandma’s house, working on the plumbing. A solid set, for life, toss these wrenches into your kit and reach for the best when you’re working.
I ordered these and the professional chrome plated one made in USA. I ended up returning the professional ones and keeping these. While the professional look better and will not rust easily (these will, just scratch one and see what happens), these are MUCH better: the difference is in fit and spread under load. These ones fit the fastener better than the pro and on par with my snap-on. Also while the pro's open end spread under torque, these do not! Also for box end I noticed that even when instead of using the correct size you take the next size of the other system (SAE or mm) it still hold under torque and won't round the corners. So as performing the task goes, these are great (BTW didn't try all of them: tried 14mm,13mm, 10mm and 9/16mm. Also didn't try other fastener type rather than 6pt). I would have taken one star of due to the tendency to rust, but in this price range it's surprising that the manufacturer put emphasis were it should i.e. performance rather than looks...
Had I wanted poorly finished Chinese tools I would've gone to **************.
Just got them so have not had a chance to try them out yet. Looks like they should be great wrenches tho and they have warranty so if they do break I can just get them replaced. The spline end should be nice.
I love all my craftsman tool I have new and used.
The universal set is surprisingly tuff/durable and they work on any nut/bolt you can think of. I'm glad I went the universal route for my traveling tool bag.
