Very easy to esemble. I was drillholes in 30 min. Have no problem drilling holes in metal.
I was hoping that Sears would not sell junk. This drill press is exactly that. The castings are thin and cheap. To begin with the flange on the base that the column goes into is too thin. The two set screws that lock the column in do not get enough purchase in the flange and strip the threads out long before the set screws begin to lock the column in place. The gear rack that moves the table up and down was not machined properly so that it would not fit in the groove in the the floor flange. The post on the rotary table was not long enough and would not sit properly in the hole machined in the mounting bracket, making it impossible to keep the table from rocking and coming loose. The LED light did not work at all (probably the little transformer inside the drill head was defective). I am thoroughly disgusted with this product and under no circumstances would I recommend it to anyone.
CUSTOMER SEVICE WAS AWFULL
Good instructions for assembly came with it.
Shipment was prompt
I bought this drill for my wood shop. Setup was easy and drill does what I want it to do. The laser light to line up the drill is a nice feature. I ran the drill in different speeds and is very quiet. I got it at sale price with coupons I ended up paying $325 plus tax.
I think sears is wonderful place to shop. I will shop at sears again soon.--keep up the good work
