I give her 5 stars for a few reasons. I love the complete runs in sockets and wrenches. I see countless mechanics sets for sale everywhere and they have partial runs skipping supposedly less common sizes. One reviewer mentioned that it is missing the 19mm wrench. True, but the set only goes up to 18mm in wrenches, 22mm in sockets. Easy fix, just duct tape a 19mm wrench to the box. The quality is good. Knurled socket ends, knurled extensions, solid finish. Now a couple drawbacks with this set that truly should not deter you. The finish will look horrible over time and they might exhibit signs of age, rust, and corrosion with time. I have countless Snap-On, Mac and Williams tools that have rust and/or are coroded. I also have a Mac Tools Jesse James Socket and Wrench set that looks pristine, because it never gets used. I just look at it. The black finish on these Craftsman tools will deteriorate down to bare metal as you bump and scuff the tools. The same holds true for the 1000 buck Mac Jesse James black finish tools. Ain't no way around it. And the Jesse James Mac tools have no warranty. If the finish does degrade on this set over time should be a positive. If you get that much use out of the set, then you've done good - really good. When you open the set new, some wrenches will have some scuffs and nicks, because the wrenches will fall out of there position and mash and smash against other wrenches. The wrenches snap into the case beautifully, but some will pop out as you carry the set around. The sockets, allens wrenches, bits, ratchets, and extensions will all stay in place. I may use a rollup slotted holder for the wrenches. Probably not. Regardless, I will keep the socket/wrench set in the van. And keep a tool bag along with a load of screwdrivers, couple pry bars, assorted pliers, couple crescent, vise grip, wire stripper, Nextec 12V drill/driver, and some cookies. It's a great set, and I am really pleased with it at the full 200 bucks.
It's a good start but is incomplete. One of the most used metric is 19MM. The 19MM wrench is not included so you have to buy it individually. 90% of the time I use 3/8 deep sockets. A 19MM is not even available. I returned this kit. I will continue to use the 6 point tool kit I bought many years ago. I has served me well and has a larger selection of sockets/ deep sockets in 1/4 - 3/8 - 1/2. I like the idea behind the universal kit but it need to be more complete. It did have the craftsman quality I always look for.
