The plug will fit under the discharge chute deflector. So you can run your lawn tractor in both modes. I chose to remove the deflector since it's not needed in my application. The plug fits without any rubber bands as many others do. It's easy to install. The only weak point is the plug does not fit very tight. You will get grass being force out all along the edge. The blades that come with the kit installs easy but only after you remove the mower deck. If you had a way to jack up the mower you might be able to replace the blades from underneath. To remove the mower deck is a bit of a challenge getting to all the clips. The clips remove easy once you learn to tricks to remove "bow-Tie clips. This was my first time with this type of clip. Fortunately there is a YouTube video from Sears Parts Direct at: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RtsUWioc6tg). To remove the actual clip go to: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-aNVBet0R4.) Hopefully this will help others with similar the installation of the mulching kit.
the mulching plug fits very poorly and grass shoots everywhere and clumps and falls out on your yard...whole purpose of mulching is to have a nice yard with no clippings. VERY POOR DESIGN SEARS...NEEDS TO BE REENGINEERED!!! my old sears riding tractor with mulching kit did way better than this, makes my zero turn worthless
was able to remove blades without removing deck,
everything when together with no problems,
A must for my first Zero turn mower, mulches up the grass and spreads the clippings evenly , I had it installed by Sears 7 years ago on my Craftsman mower with the steering wheel and it mulched great and made it easy so I didn’t have to rake up the yard. Definitely a must to save you some time.
If you don't want to scatter grass all over everything the mulch attachment it your ticket.
Once again, online says it is available now. I order it only to get an email saying will not be available until mid October. Wonder why Sears is going bankrupt. Pretty clear to me.
