OK - Let's get one thing straight. This hammer isn't a sledge hammer and it isn't a rubber mallet. This tool is a Dead-Blow Hammer. It is designed for driving two pieces of wood together. It is most commonly used to drive pieces together for joinery. The head of the hammer is made up of multiple shot which absorb energy as the head strikes another surface. This provides minimum recoil.
This particular set of Dead-Blow Hammers is among the best I have ever used. I really like the shape and style of the handle grip. It is extremely comfortable and easy to grip. You will love it two, if you use it properly.
Very good quality made by nucla Corporation for Sears. New flow make some of the finest hammers and the price point from Sears is comparable to me.
Excellent dead blow hammer. Used it in the fabrication off-road vehicles. Because it worked so well, I used it on some parts/places that I probably should have used a steel head hammer on, abusing the soft faces of the hammer. Eventually, the soft faces wore out but they lasted a long time and the rest of the hammer still almost looks new. I will definitely buy another one and use better judgement on what I'm pounding on.
