Please include these in the socket sets as standard offerings.

Anyone with a Craftsman socket set, no matter the size should include the Craftsman 2 piece Hex to Square Adapter Set tucked away in their tool box. I cannot count the number of times these little jewels have come in handy from working on my truck to working around the house. I have used them with my Craftsman 4-in-1 Screwdriver as well as in my powered drivers which have been especially effective in removing multiple screws, bolts and nuts in a short period of time. Actually, I strongly urge Craftsman to start including them as a standard piece in their toolsets they are so handy.

Work but does not hold onto the socket well

I bought this set when I was at a Sears getting some other tools as I had just recently picked up an impact driver, and figured wanted to used it while working on my car that evening. First off I was disappointed they were not made in the USA, but neither were any of the other adapters available at the store. These were cheep enough I figured why not. The hex end of the adapter fits the impact driver socket quite well, and the groove allows it to lock in as it should. The square end is sized correctly for 1/4 or 3/8 inch sockets appropriately. In use I found that the sockets kept falling off the adapter as I would pull them away from the nut I was working with. On closer inspection I found that the ball on the 3/8 adapter was very loose (I could depress it fully with my finger with a minimum amount of effort). This allowed the sockets to slip off far too easily. After a completing my job on the car, with the socket coming off of the adapter after close to 75% of the nuts I was done with this product. If the ball to hold the socket on the adapter was tighter this would work far better. So far I've only used the 3/8 adapter, so I cant comment on the 1/4 one. I realize I may have gotten a bad adapter, so I plan to take my set back to Sears for an exchange. If the new one is better I will update this review.

Great!

They work well when you want to use a socket on a drill instead of a ratchet.

Use with your drill or impact

|

Use with your drill or impact. Not impact rated so they may break but I bought a bunch for under a dollar so no big deal. I have not had any break yet. This turns them into and electric ratchet.
