I have a large corner lot and this is just the thing for a senior such as my self to keep my lawn nice.
The mower is a little slow especially in reverse. Uneven terrain causes the deck to torque which leaves mower stripes. Turning around trees is nice but if the ground around the tree is not level... the machine tends to push in a strait line. Quite a bit louder than other mowers on the market. Single cylinder engine causes a lot of vibration. Good on gas use. Can't say this is worth the money. I'd look into other brands.
Shakes with mowing feels light
Bought this a few weeks back as my Toro mower had a B&S engine and after sitting for nearly 18 mos, started on the first pull with fresh gas. Ordered this unit with mulching blades and it was delivered with the blades installed and ready to go. So far everything has worked as expected. A word of caution. The blade engagement lever is spring loaded. Make sure you move your knee out of the way should it slip from your grip. Only took two whacks on my knee to make sure I pull it back and don’t just release it.
With the instructions came a flyer showing what attachments are available. Very useful. I’m going to give this mower 5 stars for now. Hopefully it will be as dependable as the Toro.
Mower is great . We have one like this where I work and I drove it and liked it. That was a deciding factor in purchasing this one. Had a craftsman that you hauled away that was purchased in2007 and had no problems that was another factor in purchasing this one and when I saw 25%off that sealed the deal. The delivery guys were also very courteous and polite. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a mower. The mower was very easy to get ready for the first run with no problems.
I run this thing at least 2-3 hours every week through our northeast summers and when temps and tempers are high. I am not the most careful person, so, sadly, I've hit high roots and bricks and too many immovable objects that should have shaken the whole thing loose and it just keeps on going. It starts every time and keeps going until I'm done. I'm no expert! I'm a senior woman who just looks for something reliable to cut a difficultly intricate lawn and this has been everything I could want.
Nothing wrong with the mower as it replaced a 25+ year old Craftsman. What I'm struggling with is Sears' store network. I placed the order online, mower was only available at a "hometown" store. So after getting the mower and accessories home I got some of the old accessories off the old craftsman to fit on the new mower. So I went to my nearest Sears store to return the new accessories and the store (what the associate labeled as a "large" store) could not take them back because "large" stores have no access to "hometown" stores' receipts. After some further study each "hometown" store is independent from all other Sears stores. So just know if parts are bought from a Sears "hometown" store they can only be returned to that exact store.
