One of the best, if not the best, garden tractor in this price range. Has a strong engine & a strong transmission, which is the key to a great garden tractor. Built by Husqvarna but priced much less than a Husqvarna tractor. The high speed Hydro-gear 730 transmission & tight turn steering are very nice. Do a little research and you will find out what a great deal this tractor is.
I purchased this item 2 years ago and have had nothing but issues. The turn tight steering will lock up and can cause you to lose control as well as throwing you off the mower when making tight turns, it constnatly throws the belt off, had the right front wheel fall off yesterday while mowing, and it just fell off again. Had one I purchased in 2004 that only had steering issues but was overall a good mower. This one is junk, spend your money on something different....
Needed a new mower after 7 years with my last one. This seemed like a good deal, so why not.
Go to pick it up, 3 guys load it on the trailer and I ask the question " has this tractor been gone through?" Well the 3 of them looked at me like I had 3 heads. The lead guy then spoke up and said " all you have to do is put gasoline in it and your ready to mow, the oil and everything has been checked"
I get it home and figure, Ill put a gallon of gas in it and drive it off my trailer. I start it up and it made some noise that didn't seem right. I shut it off and found the mower belt was not hooked up. No big deal, I hook it up, fire it up and drive it off the trailer. Figure, lets look at some things to make sure there are no other issues. Everything looks good. Lets see how this thing works. Warm it up, pull the blade engagement **** and nothing....doesn't engage. Am I doing something wrong, don't think so. Well lets see whats going on, simple system, trace the wires down to the connector by the motor. Ahhhh, found the issue, one of the wires is not clipped into place in the connector. Fix that and whay la, blades now work, lets take it for a ride. But wait... the tires are toed in so bad there is no way this can be right. Not sure if I'm going to call sears out to come make this right, or just take it back. I should charge sears. Want to know why sears is going out of business, this is a good reason why.
Have had it for one season of fairly heavy use(2 1/2 acres of hilly lawn) and absolutely no problems. Also use it to haul firewood and other things. Love this thing.
This is my second mower, the first one was one size smaller, but they're both really strong good quality mowers!
This is an excellent choice for anyone with acreage. A few bits of contrast to both the negative and positive reviews. The Pros : The large deck along with a user friendly setup makes it very easy to operate. It has a nice seat that you can actuate very easily. The Cons: You do need to grease all the fittings and spindles. It took about a tube and a half of grease for everything. *(maintenance is everything) The steering wheel seemed a little loose so I tightened that and loosened the grill guard as it was so tight it wouldn't actuate easily. I will recommend buying the bluetooth connector (it connects between the ignition and wire harness under the dash), put slime in the tires (you'll appreciate it later) and a canopy to give yourself a little shade while you're out doing your thing. It cut my mowing time in half as it cuts at a much higher speed and does an excellent job. The engine is solid and much quieter than my previous mower. I look forward to many good years with Big Red.
