24 horsepower, 46" cut, wonderful experience, it normally takes me 3 to 3.5 hrs with my lt2000 on my 3 acres, after my first mow with my new zero turn the timer showed 1.8 hrs, that cuts my time in half. you've got to get one
I bought this 46" cut zero turn mower a week ago and mowed my 1.5 acre lawn twice. I wouldn't have any mower but a zero turn. Wore out my 11 year old Craftsman ZT7000 50" cut zero turn mower. I wanted a new 50", but sears apparently does not offer one...jumps from 46" to 54" with about a $700 price difference. I frankly like my old ZT7000 much better! The new mower is well built, mows good (in a straight line), and is powerful in tall grass. However, with the wide rear wheel track and the smaller deck, it will not mow in a tight radius, which defeats the purpose of a zero turn mower. With the old ZT7000, I could mow around objects less than 4" in diameter. The new mower cannot mow around a 36" diameter decorative concrete circle without the inside rear tire riding up onto the concrete thereby raising the cutting deck. Also, I cannot believe all of the added safety "features" which make the mower practically unusable. With my old mower which would go as fast in reverse as forward, I could mow my lawn much quicker than with the new one which is slow as molasses in reverse! Also, unless you turn the key in a certain position and have all the controls in a particular setting, engage the blades, and push a button to turn on a red light on the panel that you cannot see sitting on the mower, the blades will stop turning when backing up. When that happens, the blade pull switch must be reset and pulled to reengage the blades. Good grief, I am experienced. I don't need nor want all that ****...I am not a millennial...I know what I'm doing! "Did I receive a free sample of this product?" What kind of survey is this...!
Don't buy this mower. It seems like a great deal, but after 3 months I'm already regretting my decision. Sears CS lied to me about delivery (said they could install the mulching blade at my house) and missed their delivery windows twice. After 3 months my tire already has a slow leak. Per Sears CS "Yea Craftmans not the same after we sold it, you should have bought the protection plan"... No you should make a reliable product. This mower is more headaches then value.
Avgs about a gallon of gas a hour, which I thought was a bit high.
