Good for the handyman

I purchased this set a few weeks ago and have used it several times. After removing a couple of stubborn (bent in auto collision) bolts, I have found it to be good quality thus far. Ratchet feels comfortable and swings smooth. Set comes with a good selection of sizes that most DIY may ever need but on occasion you will need a deep socket when this set only has a standard socket or vice versa. So if you need a more versatile set with a better combination of sockets, step up to a bigger set now, rather than buy them individually.

Most trusted brand for mechanic tool sets

|

Craftsman is simply the best brand out there for mechanic tool sets. All my life have used them and I will keep using them since I haven't had never any issues with them, and if I ever do, their lifetime warranty will take care of it. Remember you get what you pay for. However, I'm not to happy with the selling of the brand to Stanley & Black and Decker, even though I know it was an economic move to save the brand. Let's hope they continue with the legacy of making very high quality tools. Bottomline, Craftsman tools highly recommended!

Good 1/2" Drive set to have around

|

I'd much rather use a 1/2" Drive set than a 3/8" Set...

Fantastic Set

|

Set is great. almost as good as my old one. Wish it included the breaker bar and a handle on the case would have been nice.

These are the heavier gauge 12 point sockets

|

These are the heavier gauge 1/2 drive 12 point sockets with Sears currently best 1/2 84T ratchet. It is the larger of two sets offered this year in 12 point. It has regular length and nine of the most used deep sockets. Again they are much more robust than the ones offered in 200 piece sets. Just buy a universal joint to comp!ete. On sale or with points you can't beat it.

I also bought the 6 point Easy Read laser etched socket set with metric and standard deep and regular length sockets only (no ratchet) to remove rusted old bolts and nuts. I have been buying Craftsman for 40 years to work on my own vehicles. The finish and steel on laser etched are best.
