I bought this tool box because it had a 75 lb. weight capacity per drawer. I use it in the back of my pickup truck, so it gets bounced around a little. It has stood up to the punishment thus far.
I had high hopes for this as I own another craftsman heavy duty tool chest that I really like. This one however is not 'heavy duty' even though its marketed as such. Some things ive noticed: The top 3 drawers are not aligned properly. 2 out of the 3 are angled slightly to one end. its fine overall but makes the tool chest look low quality and sloppy. The top shelf is sagging in the middle. I wouldnt have even noticed this until i placed my level on it and noticed it bowed in the middle. again, poor quality. Lastly, the metal trim on the drawers is loose and has play so when you open and close the drawers you cant count on hearing a rattle. overall I will probably keep this as i just needed something simple for my woodshop to house a few small tools. However if you are looking for quality i would look elsewhere..
So unfortunately, I picked this up and it rode around in my car for a week. I bought it for work; after lugging it inside & unboxing it, the top 3 drawers were mushed & crooked—-obvious material mishandling.
It’s so pathetic that this is just expected in this day and age. “Hard to get good help” is the norm. People don’t take care in their jobs...
Review after review Bears this out & it seems to be most prevalent with bankrupt Sears. ************** (now could be known as China Premium) has replaced Sears Crapsman for good, entry level tools. Sad.
The quality is outstanding!
Should have come with drawer liners.
Not being able to see this in a store I relied on the description, it stated Heavy Duty....NOT as described, the metal is very thin...…….Also the Keys for all 3 pieces are all different should have been keyed alike
