Works as described, performs well. BUT, accessory info is BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, so this tractor has worked and performed as I thought. After reading all the reviews, I decided on buying this unit which seemed to fit my needs. I wanted a high powered unit, knowing I will be adding a large driveway to my home, and wanted to add the snow blower attachment. BEWARE, Sears info is contradictory in every way! I called for assistance and was provided with different answers with every call. No one has the correct info... So here it is; - Bagger #24080 (19a30018OEM) 3 bin bagger, it's ok but tends to fill only 2 bags. - Snow thrower #24837 + #11904(bracket kit) throws snow a mile! No one in Sears knew about the bracket kit, I happened to find it during my search. For the remaining accessories, I would contact MTD Tractors, as they are the manufacturer of this tractor. Also, search for a "attachment fit-up" chart. It does list part numbers for other accessories, but also indicates that certain parts are not available, but actually are. Double check all your part numbers, as I was provided numbers that didn't fit. I will be buying wheel weights and chains to be used with the snow blower, but guess what.... The numbers listed don't appear to be correct... In review, I can't fault the operator answering the phone, they're providing info listed on a chart they're reading, too bad the charts are contradictory. Shop the prices at different stores... These accessories are sold in many stores.. Sears needs to re-vamp the parts house!

Don't Purchase it

Transaxle/Hydrostatic drive leaking after first 20 hours. I paid for the care package, otherwise I'd be up you know what creek. 1st review was kicked which had a higher rating, stating helpful information on equipment attachments that were wrong on fit chart for fellow customers. Just avoid this product. Folks in the store were great, too bad about the product.

Known tension spring failures, Sears hasn't attempted to fix before selling to customers. Don't buy!

|

Bought my 27055 tractor July 2017, tension spring broke first 8 hours of use. Known issue, why Sears hadn't corrected the issue is a mystery to me. I worked for Sears Logistics 14 yrs in the Direct Delivery Centers, an operations manager traveling to all 11 distribution centers. These DCs handle mdse generally delivered to your home IE appliances, treadmills, lg screen TV's and tractors. I KNOW how easy it would be to at least put a newly engineered spring in the cartons in stock. Sears / Craftsman knew very well of this issue but did not take action to ensure their customers were receiving good tractors! Now, I knew of the issue, but having been a manager with Sears that observed many, many recalls and mdse part replacements performed at these DCs, I could only think that the spring replacements surely had been performed. Also, I did not receive my Shop your way points, still haven't! WILL NEVER SHOP SEARS AGAIN PERIOD, they lost both an excellent operations mgr and a loyal customer.

Incredible Mower

|

I bought this mower in 2015. I have 52 hours on the tractor and have changed the oil twice. No problems.
Last year I bought the bagger. It worked so well, I used it for picking up my leaves too. The problem is it worked too well and because I don't have much grass, it pulled up the loose soil too. I even used it for cleaning the driveway of leaves, worked like a giant vacuum cleaner. This year I am trying something different. I bought the mulcher blades package and removed the bagger system. This is great, it mulches the oak leaves and leaves the soil on the ground with the tiny mulched up leaves and grass. This spring I will lime the yard and see if I can get more grass growing. This tractor runs great, tight turns, and has no problem going up hills.

Heavy Farm Use

|

I use this Lawn tractor\Mower almost everyday on my small hobby farm. I am mowing 2-3 acers of lawn and about a acre of ROUGH as **** steep slopes and ditch line. I have owned this mower for 2 years and have only replaced the blades once. Thats right only the blades and no other problems. I use this mower to haul heavy loads of debris, rock, wood, you name it I have moved it with this unit. I have used this to drag brush as I am cleaning up over grown land, and to drag around 8 16' cattle panels weekly. I SERVICE unit on a regular basis. I have read about the notorious SPRING problem and have not had any problem with this. I have mowed grass that was over the hood ( very very slow and careful) with no issues no breakdowns. I will continue to recommend this unit.
