Ok, so this tractor has worked and performed as I thought. After reading all the reviews, I decided on buying this unit which seemed to fit my needs. I wanted a high powered unit, knowing I will be adding a large driveway to my home, and wanted to add the snow blower attachment. BEWARE, Sears info is contradictory in every way! I called for assistance and was provided with different answers with every call. No one has the correct info... So here it is; - Bagger #24080 (19a30018OEM) 3 bin bagger, it's ok but tends to fill only 2 bags. - Snow thrower #24837 + #11904(bracket kit) throws snow a mile! No one in Sears knew about the bracket kit, I happened to find it during my search. For the remaining accessories, I would contact MTD Tractors, as they are the manufacturer of this tractor. Also, search for a "attachment fit-up" chart. It does list part numbers for other accessories, but also indicates that certain parts are not available, but actually are. Double check all your part numbers, as I was provided numbers that didn't fit. I will be buying wheel weights and chains to be used with the snow blower, but guess what.... The numbers listed don't appear to be correct... In review, I can't fault the operator answering the phone, they're providing info listed on a chart they're reading, too bad the charts are contradictory. Shop the prices at different stores... These accessories are sold in many stores.. Sears needs to re-vamp the parts house!
Transaxle/Hydrostatic drive leaking after first 20 hours. I paid for the care package, otherwise I'd be up you know what creek. 1st review was kicked which had a higher rating, stating helpful information on equipment attachments that were wrong on fit chart for fellow customers. Just avoid this product. Folks in the store were great, too bad about the product.
Husband and I purchased this in March 2018. We own over 4 acres and about 2 of that is rough terrain. This mower punched through weeds/small bushes over 3 ft tall. 6 mths later and it still runs hard. We go through blades often though, on 3rd set. Only issue is the front right tire goes flat and we don't know why. Have to put air in it before each use.
The quality of design on the Garden Tractor is superb - especially for the cost. Extra welded, reinforced, heavy duty with superb turning agility and a strong engine. The steering is perfect and the PTO works great - as well as clean up process.
1st year We got through all the Small stuff...Then the problems began and they haven't quit ! BATTERY, STARTER , CLUTCH THAT TURNS THE BELTS AND BLADES, NOW THE LEFT BLADE AND PULLY SYSTEM HAS FROZE UP FROM BAD BEARINGS. AND THE ONE BLADE SPINS FREELY WHILE THE OTHER TWO TRY TO DO THERE JOB..OH WELL PIECE OF JUNK. OF COURSE THE WARRANTY RAN OUT JUST IN TIME ! I WILL NEVER BUY THERE AGAIN. THEIR LOSS .EVERYTHING I OWN CAME FROM SEARS...NO MORE.CHEAP CHEAP BOB G
Researched mowers for weeks before deciding on the Craftsman Pro Series 27055. Side by side comparisons of different brands brought me back to this machine time and time again and it's a CR recommended purchase so I pulled the trigger.
First, this thing mows like a vortex. It lifts the grass up, much like a vacuum, as it cuts and blasts the grass out. As a result, grass clippings go everywhere, especially when you turn. You will get messy but it cuts great. Grass looked like carpet. I did order the mulching kit with the mower but, against Sears statement in another review, it did not come installed ready to mow. And not having the time or the gumption I elected to mow without it.
Now, the 26 HP is powerful. Forward, backward, turning, or uphill this thing moves. I had no issues getting out of a ditch I mow and one in which I always had problems with on my previous mower. I'm telling you though, this thing mows fast.
The suspension will beat you senseless and it causes my foot to constantly slide down the accelerator. But this really is more of a tractor than just a yard cutter so I guess the rough ride is to be expected. The arm rests aren't really that. Too low to rest your arms but they make good hold ons when you are on an incline.
The 5" turning radius is on point and one of my favorite features and the Bluetooth is actually pretty handy.
All in all it's a quick, powerful, even cutting mower.
