So far not bad.

Not my first choice, but price was in my ballpark. Used once so far for about two hours: Likes: Great motor with good power. Quite from a distance. Mowed great on a mostly flat yard. Got the job done in a 1/4 the time is usually takes me. Light, easy to push. Dislikes: Transmission is very jerky Seat is uncomfortably low on your back, mix that with the jerky trans., You feel like you might fall off. Stearing and axel seem very thin and cheep. The hood does not line up with the plastic around the steering wheel. Gas. It ***** it right down. Mowed for 2 hours, 1 h and 20 min mowing and then just driving around to get use to it. I went through 2 FULL tanks. There is no Gas indicator. Was on the opposite side of my yard, and it shut down. Will update after some more use.

Do buy online

Do not buy on line. My mower came to a authorized sears retail (Auth Hometown) Was still in crate they didn't like it been delivered to their store and told me so. I brought it home in crate not even know if all the parts are there. Will but together after thanksgiving. Just hope it works out? Just know if there is a problem it will be because i had to finish their job and but together. I may buy from sears again as long as their around but never ever online for even a pair of socks. Do not buy online.

It's a great mower for normal household mowing. Mows well on my mostly flat lawn. Use to take.4 to 5 hours to mow my yard with a push mower. Now takes an hour. So I am happy.

|

The pros:
The engine is powerful and runs smooth. Quiet from the neighbors side. The blades cut nice and the 42" deck makes for less passes. I don't have the bags yet, but it does suck up and spit out the side shoot well. So using the reverse mowing option I can at least get the clippings and debris to blow into the woods. Dragged a few 6" to 8" wide, to 4' to 8 ' long branches from the tree they fell out of, across my yard, to my dump pile that's about 50 yards from it, with out any issue or hesitation.
The Cons:
The jerkiness of forward and reverse surprises you once in a while.
The seat back is too low, mixed with the jerky movements of the mower, so.etimes feels like you are going to fall.
Material of mower body, deck, seat, and hood all feel cheap. Some things done want to line.up right so makes the mower look cheap as well.
Steering set up seems thin and cheap. At $1500 this shouldn't be cheap parts. It should be a sturdy mower. Have not had any issues, but I am expecting it.
The 20 hp engine sucks gas down. It takes me about an hour to mow my yard, and I go through one full tank and three quarters tank gas.

Disengaging Blades

|

It may be a Saftey feature, but it is a pain in the rear to have to Disengage the Blades in order to Back Up (Reverse). It puts too much work into cutting my lawn not to mention excess work on the mechanical wear and tear on the machine.
Also, the range or depth of the 5 blade settings is useless. You can't use 1 through 3 unless You want to Scalp Your Lawn.
I, unfortunately, waited until after the 45 warranties, so I'm stuck with it. I wouldn't even try to sell it!!!
