Great store to purchase online

Its still winter and have only operated the Z in the driveway, everything works as it should. The purchase and delivery was outstanding. Sears scheduled the delivery at my convenience. The notified me of every step of the delivery process. The z arrived by truck with a lift gate, It was completely serviced upon arrival, and setup to operate. All packaging had been removed. They pushed it into my garage after I started and confirmed it operated to my satisfaction. The only problem I have was trying to find the correct part number for a bagging kit. Sears should include the part number in every operation and parts manual that comes with the mower. Also on their web site they should have a chart to find this info

Bait & Switch

I Tried for 3 days, on-line, in two stores, via chat and telephone to order this at the sale price. Every time there was some issue or another. "We are very sorry, you can always try again next week", yeah - after the sale is over - I think not. Sorry I wasted my time.

Solid ZTR

|

The mower arrived in perfect condition with the exception of a dead battery but fortunately I was able to get a tech to come out and replace it under warranty within a couple of days (don't go to the stores they'll just give you the run around). I bought the unit for around $2,200 before tax so for the price it is a great deal to get the Kawasaki engine and a ZTR seeming made by Husqvarna. Its major flaws are that it leaves heavy tracks and can be tough on the lawn during turns but that may be partially in part to my inexperience with ZTRs. The other issue I have is with scalping. Even driving slow and cutting at the highest setting I manage to leave some scalp marks on the slightly hilly parts of my lawn. The wash port is helpful but this mower sure does collect large clumps of clippings under the deck that require manual removal. Overall I am satisfied but some larger/better wheels & casters along with some more anti-scalp features could have put this mower over the top.

The best 42" zero turn across the board with a fabricated deck

|

I have owned a Toro zero turn mower for 7 years, and it was not holding up well mechanically. Then engine had been giving me issues for the past 3 years and I had finally decided it was time to replace it. My dad had just bought a Deere zero turn and he spoke very highly of it. I went down to the Deere store and putted around on one of their demo units which was a nice riding mower but the throttle levers seemed to be unnatural comparing to my Toro and I wanted a fabricated deck. I also wanted a 3rd party reputable engine but with Deere that seemed to be impossible at 42". I then tried the Ariens and ********* at our local outdoor equipment store but for the Ariens price and what you get seemed to be out of balance. The ********* had poor online reviews from several different web sites and again, no fabricated deck. As I was researching I noticed my neighbor had purchased a new Husqavarna zero turn mower with a Kawasaki engine. He let me take it to mow my 1 acre lawn. I loved it, the comfort, power, noise level and the fully fabricated deck in this size mower is non existent across other brands. It had an hour meter which my Toro did not have and it has optional headlights that can be added later. I was pretty much sold on this. I did some further research and noticed that the exact same mower is the Craftsman 27771 42". It is made by Husqavarna and comes with the Kawasaki engine. The cost was about $300 cheaper. So I went down to Sears and looked at it and sure enough, it was the exact same mower. I purchased it and have had it for 1 year now. The mower is a major step up from the Toro and I have no issues with it. The engine powerful and never has a hiccup. I couldn't be happier with it and glad I did my research as this is the best all around 42" mower. Make sure and get the Kawasaki engine!

I Love My Zero Turn!

|

This is the greatest mower! This is the 1st zero turn mower I have driven. My previous ones were the typical tractor type with steering wheels. I'm older with some health issues and the old tractor type was too hard to steer, hard to fill up gas tank, didn't cut as well and definitely didn't maneuver as well. The zero turn is a life-saver for me. It's so easy to maneuver, my muscles are not nearly as taxed as with the old type.
