I purchased a new Craftsman zero-turn 46" mower in May of 2014. After the first year using the mower in the summer of 2016 I started having costly problems with it. The spindle for the right blade went bad and ruined the belt and pulley's. I replaced all needed parts. then in 2017 the same thing. When it was delivered they bent one of the deck wheels. The Tech. came out to repair it and lined up the deck. He also warned me to be careful lowering the deck much as the idler guide pulley might throw the belt. I wonder now as the new belt id wearing out fast is this a defect in the model being the deck pulleys don't line up well causing problems.

Fix or Replace my mower

Purchased a new 46" Craftsman zero turn tractor at the end of March and before the end of September the transmission went out and the right lever is inoperable. I called for repair and it took two weeks to get the tech to come look at it. After the tech looked at it and determined that the transmission went out, I went to the store in Elizabethtown to see what they would do about the mower and they basically said that it was nothing they could do since I didn't get the extended warranty, furthermore they made a few jokes that I didn't see the humor in nor did they even offer to give me money to have my yard cut until they could get the parts in which by the way will be another 3 weeks and in the meantime my grass isn't getting any shorter. If this is how Sears and Craftsman takes care of paying customers then I have bought my last Craftsman anything.

Spend the extra money on a diffrent brand

The mower was delivered with 18 hours already on it (my guess is it was a return). Took along time to be able to adjust the mower deck high enough to cut the grass at a level to were it wouldn't burn up. I was able to make a bunch adjustments and finally get it high enough to make a great cut. It looked great. However, I always had trouble getting the thing to start sometimes in 7 or 8 cranks but other times it might take ten minutes just to get it started. I'm not sure if I got someone else's return, which is why it had so many problems. Keep in mind I only had the mower for one week. I returned the mower and I'm going to buy another brand with a better reputation. I've never had any luck with any Craftsman gas powered equipment. This makes it 0-3 and they will no longer be on my list of brands I will buy no matter how good the deal seems to be.

would buy again if out of crate and assembled

When I stopped in to pick up the mower, it was still in the crate. I also had to remove it from the crate and assemble a couple of parts on it. The experience took me over an hour to remove it and install parts then put it on the trailer.
