poor performance deck drags even on slightest slop or uneven ground one or the other tire will spin. NO NOSE ROLLER
I severely dislike the fact this mower has no anti-scalp roller on the front of the mower deck. (maybe I can have one attached at a mower shop nearby) It also has no front end weight, so the front wheels come off the ground sometimes on inclines. Most zero turns have a heavy duty construction, but this one does not. If you have a lot of steep hills or ditches on your property, I wouldn't recommend using this mower. Flat ground its a beast, ditches, its meh. Also ****** sells an arm rest and headlight kit from Husqvarna for around $80 combined that confirm fit this mower with 20mins installation time max. I only have about 8 hrs of mowing on mine, but it runs well and cuts well. Heard a lot of people complaining of motor issues with this, but I've never had any issues with Kawasaki Lawn mower engines.
I have 6 acres to mow with a lot of trees, shrubs and bushes. We purchased a 54"/24HP Zero Turn from Sears in Chillicothe OH (No longer open). Thank GOD we purchased the 3 yr warranty! This is the FOURTH engine in it! This is the THIRD deck on it! The pulleys shatter allowing the blades to slam into each other and pull through the deck! The blades, belts, starter, micro-switches have all be replaced multiple times. It takes 2-3 weeks to get a technician out to look at it. He comes and says "yup...it's broke! I have to order parts"! It takes 7-10 days for the parts to arrive then ANOTHER 2-3 weeks for the technician to return to repair it! My engine broke AGAIN in April ... it took until August to repair it! The engine they sent was bad so another one had to be reordered!
The SAME thing happened last year! My zero turn was broke the entire summer!
Because they keep the work order under one ticket Sears will only pay $50 per OPEN TICKET to get my 6 acres mowed ...even though last year and this year... my zero turn was broke ALL SUMMER!
I have called Sears NUMEROUS times for a replacement. Because we passed the INITIAL warranty and bought an "extended" 1 yr warranty... Sear will only "allow" a $1500 replacement for a $3800 mower! Had I known I would have insisted before the initial warranty expired for a replacement mower!
Sears expects me to downgrade from a 54" / 24HP Zero Turn to a 42" / 19HP regular riding mower AND PAY THE TAX on anything over $1500!!
AND...the warranty that expires in December on the Zero Turn would only be good on the exchange mower for the same time!
When I called the warranty department the last time the guy said "That's the way it is...is there anything else I can do for you today!?"
It's no wonder Sears is going out of business!!
Had I known that Sears would not stand behind their product... I would have spent my money someplace else!
I have been very pleased with the performance and quality of this mower. It is actually a Husqvarna product. The BUT comes from the fact that that during the dealer assembly process, the ignition switch wiring harness was not securely attached. As a result, the battery totally drained and a service tech was required. Admittedly, he was very thorough in his systems check and zeroed in on the wiring harness. He securely clicked it together and installed a new battery. It has functioned perfectly since. I have purchased Husqvarna accessories of arm rests and a light kit which fit this mower exactly.
I first visited the local Sears store to look at the zero turn mowers. I selected one and it didn't have a nose roller on the mower deck. I asked the salesman to check to see if it came with one. He told me yes. Then I went home to do some on line research and found the same mower for a much lower price so I ordered it on line. I confirmed prior to placing the order that it came with the mower deck nose roller. I asked TWICE and the chat person said yet it did. I had to wait for delivery and won't go into the scheduling problems, but when to mower arrived it came with out the nose roller. I just went back on line on chat and found out it doesn't come with a nose roller. So, long story short, they gave me a discount to keep it. Now I have a mower that I don't know will meet my needs until I get back to my cottage and try it. So I am rating this mower on my purchasing and delivery experience. I will be sure to follow up once I've had a chance to use the mower. I am keeping my fingers crossed!
This was my first zero turn mower. I really love how fast it is compared to my old mower. I would definitely recommend this to anyone with a low budget.
